Article Abstract

In this article, a synthesis of '-(benzylidene)-2-(6-methyl-1-pyrazolo[3,4-]quinolin-1-yl)acetohydrazides and their structural interpretation by NMR experiments is described in an attempt to explain the duplication of some peaks in their H- and C-NMR spectra. Twenty new 6-methyl-1-pyrazolo[3,4-]quinoline substituted -acylhydrazones (-) were synthesized from 2-chloro-6-methylquinoline-3-carbaldehyde () in four steps. 2-Chloro-6-methylquinoline-3-carbaldehyde (1) afforded 6-methyl-1-pyrazolo[3,4-]quinoline (), which upon -alkylation yielded 2-(6-methyl-1-pyrazolo[3,4-]quinolin-1-yl)acetate (). The hydrazinolysis of 3 followed by the condensation of resulting 2-(6-methyl-1-pyrazolo[3,4-]quinolin-1-yl)acetohydrazide () with aromatic aldehydes gave -acylhydrazones (-). Structures of the synthesized compounds were established by readily available techniques such as FT-IR, NMR and mass spectral studies. The stereochemical behavior of (-) was studied in dimethyl sulfoxide- solvent by means of H NMR and C NMR techniques at room temperature. NMR spectra revealed the presence of '-(benzylidene)-2-(6-methyl-1-pyrazolo[3,4-]quinolin-1-yl)acetohydrazides as a mixture of two conformers, i.e.,   and at room temperature in DMSO-. The ratio of both conformers was also calculated and   conformer was established to be in higher percentage in equilibrium with the form.

Beyond Fixed-Size Skyrmions in Nanodots: Switchable Multistability with Ferromagnetic Rings.

We demonstrate a novel approach to controlling and stabilizing magnetic skyrmions in ultrathin multilayer nanostructures through spatially engineered magnetostatic fields generated by ferromagnetic nanorings. Using analytical modeling and micromagnetic simulations, we show that the stray fields from a Co/Pd ferromagnetic ring with out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy significantly enhance the Néel-type skyrmion stability in an Ir/Co/Pt nanodot, even stabilizing the skyrmion in the absence of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions. We demonstrate precise control over the skyrmion size and stability.

A visible-light-catalyzed three-component cyclization reaction of 2-vinylarylamines with CFSONa and arylaldehydes is developed to build a series of 3-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-3-indoles. This protocol features mild reaction conditions using an 18 W blue LED as the light source at room temperature. The desired 3-indole products can be successfully transformed into valuable tetrahydroindole scaffolds through either reduction or cross-coupling reactions.

Enhanced Curie temperature of ferromagnetic CrSBr by interfacial coupling with elemental two-dimensional ferroelectrics: triggering a new p-d super-exchange coupling path.

Owing to their distinctive thickness and physical attributes, two-dimensional (2D) materials have exhibited considerable promise in the field of microelectronic devices. Notably, 2D magnetic materials that maintain long-range magnetic order and can be readily modulated by external fields have garnered substantial attention. However, CrSBr, despite being a 2D van der Waals (vdW) semiconducting magnet with an appropriate band gap and stability in air, faces significant hindrance for practical utilization due to its Curie temperature () of 146 K.

Pathogenic characteristics of Causing Black Root Rot of Carrot.

Institute of Plant Protection, University of Belgrade-Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Phytopathology, Nemanjina 6, Belgrade , Serbia, 11080.

The pathogenic soilborne and postharvest fungus , as newly reported pathogen in Serbia, caused significant disease symptoms on carrot roots and seedlings in inoculation assays. In October 2023, machine-washed and cold-stored carrot roots showed symptoms of black rot of patches and abundant sporulation. The influence of the postharvest treatment of machine washing was confirmed by additional sampling at the production site.
