Article Abstract

By collecting and analyzing the explanation/conception, acupoint name, acupoint location, indications, acupuncture and moxibustion techniques and contraindications of -sea point recorded in () and ( '), it is found that conception of -sea point of five- points has been specifically formed, the names of -sea points of eleven meridians, the locations and the ways to locate them were recorded. But, the summaries relevant to the indications of the many -sea points have not been included in teaching materials, thus, it needs to be further analyzed. The acupuncture-moxibustion techniques at -sea point are flexible and the attention should be paid to distinguish "needling -sea point in autumn" from "needling -sea point in winter". Besides, the consideration should be given on coma/fainting induced by arterial bleeding when needling -sea point, as well as the joint motor impairment caused by over deep insertion in acupuncture.

Anthropogenic climate warming and coastal eutrophication have restructured phytoplankton communities in the East China Sea; however, the centennial-scale dynamics of phytoplankton remain poorly understood. By systematically integrating 33 sediment cores, we reconcile the variations of primary productivity during the last century. The results revealed increased primary productivity during the past century, while the phytoplankton groups showed divergent eco-regional responses: river-dominated estuaries have partially mitigated the dominance of dinoflagellates (1980s) via Changjiang nitrate loading, while potential hypoxic regions shifted earlier (1960s) under thermal forcing and silicate concentration.

The Mediterranean Sea is home to a wide variety of fish species that exhibit carnivorous behavior, particularly during the juvenile to pre-adult stages. This study aimed to compare the tongue morphology of four Mediterranean carnivorous fish species: the dusky grouper fish (Epinephelus marginatus), John Dory fish (Zeus faber), squirrelfish (Holocentrus spp.), and red lionfish (Pterois volitans).

The single-difference positioning method could eliminate the systematic error of long periods, which is one of the major factors affecting the seafloor geodetic acoustic positioning accuracy. Due to the poor observation geometry in short observation time, there is collinearity in the coefficient matrix. Therefore, a small observation error may lead to a large error in the least square solution, which is the ill-posed problem of single-difference positioning.

Delta under pressure: A holistic assessment of morphodynamic change in the Indian Sundarbans from 1972 to 2025.

September 2025

CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa, 403004, India; Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Ghaziabad, 201002, India.

The Indian Sundarban Delta (ISD), located at the confluence of the Ganga-Brahmaputra-Meghna river system along India's eastern coast, is among the world's most geomorphologically dynamic and environmentally vulnerable deltaic systems. Over the past five decades, the region has undergone substantial morphodynamic changes driven by natural forces such as relative sea-level rise, wave action, and sediment flux, as well as anthropogenic factors like upstream water regulation via dams and barrages. This study examines the long-term evolution of shoreline and island morphology across the ISD from 1972 to 2025 using multi-temporal Landsat datasets under consistent tidal conditions.

Steamed hay for the prevention of severe equine asthma exacerbations.

Equine Vet J

September 2025

Department of Clinical Sciences, Faculté de Médecine Vétérinaire, Université de Montréal, Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada.

Background: Steaming hay reduces respirable particles and is commonly used to feed horses with asthma. However, it showed inconsistent benefits in clinical studies.

Objectives: (1) To assess the effects of steamed hay on lung function and airway inflammation in horses with severe equine asthma (SEA) in remission; (2) To compare these effects with a dry hay diet.
