Conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs), especially poly(-phenylene ethynylene) nanoparticles (PPE-NPs), are promising candidates for bio-imaging due to their high photostability, adjustable optical characteristics, and biocompatibility. Despite their potential, the fluorescence mechanisms of these nanoparticles are not yet fully understood. In this work, we modeled a spherical PPE-NP in a water environment using 30 PPE dimer chains.

Department of Orthopedics, Honghui Hospital, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, Shaanxi, People's Republic of China.

Peptide-based fluorescent probes have found widespread applications in biomedical research, including bio-imaging, disease diagnosis, drug discovery, and image-guided surgery. Their favorable properties-such as small molecular size, low toxicity, minimal immunogenicity, and high targeting specificity-have contributed to their growing utility in both basic research and translational medicine. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in peptide-based fluorescent probes, emphasizing design strategies, biological targets, and diverse functional applications.

A series of molecular logic gates with multiple biocomputing capabilities have been successfully fabricated by using four antibiotic residues [tetracycline (TET), chloramphenicol (CHL), kanamycin (KAN), and streptomycin (STR)] as inputs. The lateral flow strip biosensor was utilized to realize the visual and portable sensing of logic events. Four basic logic gates (OR, AND, XOR, and INHIBIT) and three cascade logic circuits (OR-INHIBIT-AND, 3AND-OR, and XOR-INHIBIT-OR-AND) were constructed.

Introduction: The procedural complexity and time-consuming of conventional pesticide residue detection methods in traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) significantly impeded their application in modern systems. To address this, this study presented an innovative dual-mode sensor driven by Cu/Cu redox-cycling, which achieved efficient signal transduction from enzyme inhibition to optical response for rapid acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity and organophosphorus pesticide (OP) residue detection.

Methods: The AB-Cu NPs sensor, a dynamic redox-responsive system, was constructed via coordination-driven assembly of Azo-Bodipy 685 (AB 685) and Cu.

A dual-cavity lasing platform is reported in which thioflavin T (ThT), a rotor-sensitive molecular probe, is employed to map molecular-crowding effects within starch granules via coupled Fabry-Perot (FP) and whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonances. In this architecture, global standing-wave feedback is furnished by a planar FP cavity, while size-tunable WGMs are supported by ThT-coated starch granules. Granules were sorted into five diameter classes (<20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-60, and >60 μm), and lasing thresholds alongside fluorescence lifetimes were determined.
