Although it is accepted that oncologists should plan for a future beyond full-time oncology, there is little practical guidance for a successful transition into retirement. Previously, we provided strategies for various aspects of retirement planning. However, this became significantly more complicated as we face newer issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the move to virtual patient care, greater awareness of burnout, and the increasing burden of regulatory issues such as the electronic medical record. It is evident that more prospective information is needed to guide oncologists in planning their retirement.

The application of nanoscale metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in tissue engineering is receiving increased attention. As three-dimensional scaffolding materials that provide an appropriate extracellular microenvironment supporting the survival, proliferation, and organization of cells play a key role tissue engineering, hybridization of nanoscale MOFs with bulk hydrogels has led to the development of nanoscale MOF-combined hydrogels. However, development of nanoscale MOF-combined hydrogel scaffolds remains challenging.

Photophysical studies on the interaction of small molecules with various forms of nucleic acids are attracting attention nowadays in order to delineate the molecular level mechanism of various biological processes occurring in vivo. Herein, we employed vivid steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopic techniques to elucidate the detailed characterization of the binding interaction of a biologically active cationic dye thioflavin T (ThT) with double and triple helical forms of RNA - A.U duplex and U.

A dietary protein intake of approximately 2.5 kg is required to generate 1.0 kg of protein in the carcass of broiler chickens at 42 d post-hatch, reflecting the attrition or wastage of dietary amino acids that occurs during their lifespan.

In neuropathic pain (NP), a dysregulation of glial functions in the central and peripheral nervous systems has been described, and the balance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory mediators is lost in the transition from acute to chronic pain. This raises the possibility to resolve pain via the induction of anti-inflammatory cytokines that have a protective role against neuroinflammatory events. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), an anti-inflammatory cytokine is able to counteract the development of chronic NP.

Importance: Employing peer coaches to provide weight management counseling in primary care could address patient- and clinician-level barriers to obesity care, improve outcomes, and boost engagement in weight management programs.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of peer coaching to deliver a low- to moderate-intensity intervention for weight management compared with enhanced usual care (EUC).
Design, Setting, And Participants: This 2-arm, cluster randomized clinical trial was conducted from November 2017 to August 2021 at a single US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) site.
