Super Responder of 177Lu-PSMA-617 PSMA Therapy in Patient With End-Stage Renal Disease on Hemodialysis.

Clin Nucl Med

September 2025

Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Center (SQCCCRC), University Medical City, Muscat, Oman.

PSMA-targeted radioligand therapies with 177Lu-PSMA-617 have shown promising response rates with favorable toxicity in patients with metastasized castration-resistant prostate cancer. We report a case of a 72-year-old man with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer having comorbidities of DM, HTN, and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on regular hemodialysis. Renal transplantation is the best option for end-stage renal disease, and in this study, patients who underwent robotic-assisted renal transplantation (RAKT) and open renal transplantation (OKT) were selected to compare their intraoperative and postoperative clinical outcomes: including Operation Time, Length of Stay, WIT (warm ischaemia time), CIT (cold ischaemia time), Estimated Blood Loss, Post 1 month Creatinine, Incision Length, Rewarming Time, Wound infection. The study was registered in PROSPERO with CRD code: CRD420251061084. We searched in Web of Science, Pubmed, Wiely, Elsevier databases, screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and finally included 7 papers.

Objectives: Liver transplant has significantly improved the survival of patients with end-stage liver disease, yet long-term transplant recipients often face challenges related to graft function and well-being. We aimed to evaluate the clinical role of vibration-controlled transi-ent elastography for assessment of liver fibrosis and steatosis, with a focus on fibrosis and steatosis, in liver transplant recipients who were over 10 years posttrans-plant. In addition, we aimed to identify factors that influence liver function and quality of life in these patients.

Protection of the Endothelium and Endothelial Glycocalyx by Albumin and Sulodexide in Porcine Model of Kidney Transplant.

Exp Clin Transplant

August 2025

>From the Department of Urology, University Hospital Hradec Kralove, Hradec Kralove, Czechia; and the Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove, Hradec Kralove, Czechia.

Objectives: Kidney transplant is a life-saving procedure for patients with end-stage renal disease. Success of kidney transplant is highly dependent on maintaining the integrity of the endothelium and its protective layer, the endothelial glycocalyx. Ischemia-reperfusion injury, a common challenge in kidney transplant, can disrupt the endothelial glycocalyx, leading to various post-transplant complications.

Introduction: The management of bleeding and coagulation after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has long been recognised as a significant challenge for orthopaedic surgeons. Despite the notable success of empirical anticoagulation in preventing venous thromboembolism (VTE) following TKA, the increased risk of postoperative bleeding has also raised extensive concern. Ecchymosis, as one of the most common manifestations indicating postoperative bleeding, holds the potential to indicate the balance of bleeding and hypercoagulation.
