Introduction: Phenomena related to reward responsiveness have been extensively studied in their associations with substance use and socioemotional functioning. One important task in this literature is the Monetary Incentive Delay (MID) task. By cueing and delivering performance-contingent reward, the MID task has been demonstrated to elicit robust activation of neural circuits involved in different phases of reward responsiveness. However, systematic evaluations of common MID task contrasts have been limited to between-study comparisons of group-level activation maps, limiting their ability to directly evaluate how researchers' choice of contrasts impacts conclusions about individual differences in reward responsiveness or brain-behavior associations.
Methods: In a sample of 104 participants (Age Mean = 19.3, SD = 1.3), we evaluate similarities and differences between contrasts in: group- and individual-level activation maps using Jaccard's similarity index, region of interest (ROI) mean signal intensities using Pearson's r, and associations between ROI mean signal intensity and psychological measures using Bayesian correlation.
Results: Our findings demonstrate more similarities than differences between win and loss cues during the anticipation contrast, dissimilarity between some win anticipation contrasts, an apparent deactivation effect in the outcome phase, likely stemming from the blood oxygen level-dependent undershoot, and behavioral associations that are less robust than previously reported.
Conclusion: Consistent with recent empirical findings, this work has practical implications for helping researchers interpret prior MID studies and make more informed a priori decisions about how their contrast choices may modify results.

The role of the right hemisphere in aphasia recovery has been controversial since the 19th century. Imaging studies have sometimes found increased activation in right hemisphere regions homotopic to canonical left hemisphere language regions, but these results have been questioned due to small sample sizes, unreliable imaging tasks, and task performance confounds that affect right hemisphere activation levels even in neurologically healthy adults. Several principles of right hemisphere language recruitment in aphasia have been proposed based on these studies: that the right hemisphere is recruited primarily by individuals with severe left hemisphere damage, that transcallosal disinhibition results in recruitment of right hemisphere regions homotopic to the lesion, and that increased right hemisphere activation diminishes to baseline levels over time.

Objectives: to evaluate the effect of smear-layer deproteinization using papain gel and SPRG-adhesive on marginal-gap, anti-demineralization of enamel and dentin after chemical pH cycling and assess acid-base resistance zone (ABRZ) characteristics.
Methods: Cylindrical cavities were prepared cervically in thirty-two extracted premolars. Teeth were divided into two pretreatment groups (n=16); deproteinization with papain enzyme gel (Papacarie Due, Brazil) for 60 second, and no-deproteinization.

Background: Patient handover is a daily task for doctors and nurses, and structured handovers have been proven to positively impact patient outcomes. To teach the handover procedure, different communication tools have been applied, such as the ISBAR (introduction and identification, situation, background, assessment and actions, and recommendation) method.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and user engagement of the first-time use of supplementary handover training in virtual reality (VR) for medical students as an addition to an existing curriculum.

The application of realist-informed approaches to implementation research can produce answers to why, for whom and under what circumstances social determinants of health interventions work. In the context of a study to develop and test EHR-based clinical decision support tools that suggest adjusting care plans in response to patient-reported financial, housing, food, transportation, and utilities insecurity, the authors applied an innovative use of realist principles in a bounded, mid-study task. This paper demonstrates how realist retroduction can be applied in intervention development processes.

Timely, balanced, and transparent detection of retinal diseases is essential to avert irreversible vision loss; however, current deep learning screeners are hampered by class imbalance, large models, and opaque reasoning. This paper presents a lightweight attention-augmented convolutional neural network (CNN) that addresses all three barriers. The network combines depthwise separable convolutions, squeeze-and-excitation, and global-context attention, and it incorporates gradient-based class activation mapping (Grad-CAM) and Grad-CAM++ to ensure that every decision is accompanied by pixel-level evidence.
