Background: Previous studies have shown that family nurse practitioners (FNPs) provide an important contribution to health promotion and disease management in primary care. Nevertheless, the position of FNP does not exist in Taiwan. In Taiwan, the leading cause of most disability and death is diabetes, for which an FNP has great potential to fulfill healthcare needs. Therefore, establishing how to cultivate competent FNPs is an important issue. It is feasible to train current acute care nurse practitioners (NPs) to become FNPs through enrollment in a transition program.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop an FNP transition program, including the necessary competencies and curriculum.
Design: A modified Delphi method (use of an expert panel) is used to validate the preliminary curriculum of an FNP transition program.
Settings: The Delph method conducted through email and physical meetings.
Participants: Four expert panel groups involve in this project with different group has its own mission. Totally, there were 14 experts completed the transition program.
Methods: A modified Delphi method was used to validate the competencies and curriculum. Descriptive data analysis was used to evaluate the target consensus of 80%.
Results: This study provided the first FNP transition program design in Taiwan, based on the global literature and a local gap analysis.
Conclusions: Nursing faculty, healthcare delivery system administration leaders, and policymakers can use the curriculum to train current NPs to become competent FNPs to provide optimal quality of care in the community.

Introduction: Simple screening tools are critical for assessing Alzheimer's disease (AD)-related pre-dementia changes. This study investigated longitudinal scores from the Quick Dementia Rating System (QDRS), a brief study partner-reported measure, in relation to baseline levels of the AD biomarker plasma pTau217 in individuals unimpaired at baseline.
Methods: Data from the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention (N = 639) were used to examine whether baseline plasma pTau217 (ALZpath assay on Quanterix platform) modified QDRS or Preclinical Alzheimer's Cognitive Composite (PACC3) trajectories (mixed-effects models; time = age).

Balsa (Ochroma lagopus Swartz), the world's lightest wood and a crucial material in wind turbine blades, holds significant potential to contribute to carbon neutrality efforts when cultivated in tropical areas such as Xishuangbanna, China. However, balsa trees planted in Xishuangbanna exhibit early branching, resulting in reduced wood yield. Our study investigated the pivotal factors in regulating shoot apical dominance and branching by comparing an early-branching cultivar from Indonesia with a late-branching cultivar from Ecuador.

Multicellular organisms generate organizational complexity through morphogenesis, in which mechanical forces orchestrate the movements and deformations of cells and tissues, while chemical signals regulate the molecular events that generate and coordinate these forces. One common denominator that is critical both for mechanics and biochemistry is material property. Material properties define how materials deform or rearrange under applied forces, and how rapidly molecules interact or spread in space and time.

Background: Few studies have examined how professional caregivers perceive the relocation of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the family home to specialised residential settings.
Method: We conducted semi-structured interviews with eight professional caregivers, exploring their experiences of admitting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities into residential care. Transcripts were analysed using Mayring's qualitative content analysis.

In Arabidopsis roots, xylem-pole-pericycle (XPP) cells exhibit dual cell fates by contributing to both lateral root (LR) and cambium formation. Despite the significant progress in understanding these processes individually, the mechanism deciding between these two fates and its contribution on root architecture and secondary growth remain unknown. Here we combined lineage tracing with molecular genetics to study the regulation of fate plasticity of XPP cell lineage.
