The neural circuitry engaged in supporting eye movements has been well characterized, but fundamental questions remain about the necessity and sufficiency of the individual hemispheric contributions. To gain a better understanding of the neural correlates of oculomotor control, we measured horizontal smooth pursuit tracking behavior in 14 patients following childhood hemispherectomy. Relative to developmentally typical age-matched controls, patients exhibited a bilateral and asymmetric pursuit deficit with reduced ipsilesional but elevated contralesional eye speeds, and asymmetric accompanying 'catch up' saccades.

Method: A prospective non-randomized study was conducted with 29 subjects practicing TC and 27 subjects as controls according to their preference. The seated TC group underwent 3 months of training with a total of 24 sessions (1hour/session, 2 sessions/week).

Early diagnosis is critical for the effective management of neurodegenerative disorders, and retinal alterations have emerged as promising early biomarkers due to the retina's close developmental and functional link to the brain. The zebrafish (Danio rerio), with its rapid development, transparent embryos, and evolutionarily conserved visual system, represents a powerful and versatile model for studying retinal degeneration. This review discusses a range of behavioral assays-including visual adaptation, motion detection, and color discrimination-that are employed to evaluate retinal function in zebrafish.

This study focuses on exploring the differences in driving abilities in emergency traffic situations between older drivers (aged 60-70) and young drivers (aged 20-35) in a simple traffic environment. Two typical emergency scenarios were designed in the experiment: Scenario A (intrusion of electric bicycles) and Scenario B (pedestrians crossing the road). The experiment employed a driving simulation system to synchronously collect data on eye movement characteristics, driving behavior, and physiological metrics from 30 drivers.
