Article Abstract

Ginsenoside Rg3 (Rg3) is a member of the ginsenoside family of chemicals extracted from . Like other ginsenosides, Rg3 has two epimers: 20(S)-ginsenoside Rg3 (SRg3) and 20(R)-ginsenoside Rg3 (RRg3). Rg3 is an intriguing molecule due to its anti-cancer properties. One facet of the anti-cancer properties of Rg3 is the anti-angiogenic action. This review describes the controversies on the effects and effective dose range of Rg3, summarizes the evidence on the efficacy of Rg3 on angiogenesis, and raises the possibility that Rg3 is a prodrug.

Purpose: Osimertinib, established as the frontline treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), can effectively prolong progression-free survival. However, it faces the problem of reduced treatment persistence due to acquired drug resistance. Meanwhile, tumor hypoxia is also a key driver of drug resistance.

Heart failure (HF) is an end-stage cardiovascular syndrome caused by structural or functional cardiac abnormalities. Its high morbidity and mortality underscore the urgent need for novel therapeutic strategies. In recent years, the dynamic regulatory mechanisms underlying macrophage polarization in the onset and progression of HF have attracted widespread attention.

Objective: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) has been closely associated with ferroptosis in nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs), the underlying regulatory mechanisms and therapeutic strategies remain poorly defined. This study aims to delineate how ginsenoside Rg3 mitigates IVDD progression through ferroptosis suppression, providing a basis for clinical translation.

Method: An erastin-induced nucleus pulposus cell ferroptosis model was established.

The risk of exposure to particulate matter (PM) has been consistently highlighted globally owing to its detrimental effects on the respiratory and cardiovascular systems and in the development of lung cancer. Additionally, PM promotes cancer cell metastasis; however, research elucidating the precise mechanisms underlying this phenomenon and the strategies to inhibit it remains limited. The aim of this study was to elucidate the mechanism underlying PM-induced cancer metastasis and investigate the preventive role of ginsenoside Rg3.

Introduction: Granulated straw incorporation is a novel approach designed to enhance straw decomposition and improve soil fertility. However, the effects of different straw incorporation amounts under deep tillage and rotary tillage on soil available nutrients, soil organic carbon (SOC) fractions, bacterial communities, and crop yield remain unclear.

Methods: In a 3-year field experiment, three granulated maize straw amounts (G1, 2,250; G2, 4,500; and G3, 6,750 kg hm) and two tillage methods (T, deep tillage; and R, rotary tillage) were applied to evaluate their impacts on SOC fractions, available nutrients, bacterial communities, and flue-cured tobacco yield.
