MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in a series of pathology of spinal cord injury (SCI). Although, locally expressed miRNAs have advantages in studying the pathological mechanism, they cannot be used as biomarkers. The "free circulation" miRNAs can be used as biomarkers, but they have low concentration and poor stability in body fluids. Exosomal miRNAs in body fluids have many advantages comparing with free miRNAs. Therefore, we hypothesized that the specific miRNAs in the central nervous system might be transported to the peripheral circulation and concentrated in exosomes after injury. Using next-generation sequencing, miRNA profiles in serum exosomes of sham and subactue SCI rats were analyzed. The results showed that SCI can lead to changes of serum exosomal miRNAs. These changed miRNAs and their associated signaling pathways may explain the pathological mechanism of suacute SCI. More importantly, we found some valuable serum exosomal miRNAs for diagnosis and prognosis of SCI.

Background: The risk factors associated with treatment resistance to consolidation durvalumab following chemoradiotherapy (CRT) for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have not been well established.
Methods: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) were isolated from the pretreatment serum of 73 patients treated with consolidation durvalumab. Isolation was performed using CD9/CD63 antibodies, and EV proteins were identified using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) constitutes approximately 90% of liver cancers, yet its early detection remains challenging due to the low sensitivity of current diagnostic methods and the difficulty in identifying minimal cancer cells within the body. This study employed a patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse model to screen for biomarkers, leveraging its advantage of low background interference compared to human serum exosome studies. Using a novel microextraction technique, exosomes were isolated from just one microliter of serum from HCC PDX mice, followed by proteomic profiling.

Background: The exosomal microRNAs (exomiRNAs) are promising novel biomarkers for clinical detection and prognosis assessment of human cancers. The aim of this study was to identify potential exomiRNAs as biomarkers in ovarian cancer (OC).
Methods: The candidate exomiRNAs were screened by analysis of GSE235525, GSE239685, and GSE216150 datasets and further validated in exosome samples from the serum of 61 patients with OC and OC cell lines by qPCR.

Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) offer a multifaceted approach to treating immune-mediated skin diseases by modulating the immune system and promoting tissue regeneration. Specifically, their ability to differentiate into multiple cell types such as keratinocytes and fibroblasts, modulate immune responses, and release growth factors and cytokines underscores their potential in treating a wide range of immune-related skin conditions. ADMSCs significantly reduced various aspects of psoriasis, including scaling, thickness, and erythema.

Background: Inflammation plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of limb injury caused by snakebite. Investigating its regulatory mechanisms and intervention strategies may help identify effective treatments. Recent studies have shown that pyroptosis exacerbates organ damage by amplifying inflammatory responses.
