The husks and fruits of species (Rutaceae) are the popular pungent and spicy ingredients of foods and the traditional medicines in many countries. Three species, . , . , and . , are distributed and intermixed with each other as "Zanthoxyli Pericarpium" in Korean markets. In the present study, we analyzed the ethyl acetate-soluble and nonpolar fractions of samples by H NMR spectrometry and performed a multivariate analysis for finding the discriminant markers between three species. Xanthoxylin was identified as the metabolic marker for the discrimination of species and quantified by the qNMR approach.

Background: Clubroot, caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, significantly impacts cruciferous crop production worldwide. Biocontrol is an environmentally friendly and promising approach for clubroot management. Endophytic bacteria are known for their ability to promote plant growth and induce resistance against plant diseases.

Urbanization and increasing vehicular traffic have intensified air pollution, particularly the accumulation of particulate matter (PM), trace elements (TEs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in urban environments. These pollutants pose significant risks to human health, urban ecosystems, and biodiversity. This study evaluates the efficacy of mixed-species vegetation barriers, comprising , , , and , in mitigating air pollution along three road types (highway, urban, and suburban).

White spot syndrome virus (WSSV), the causative agent of white spot disease, remains a serious threat to crustacean aquaculture. Infecting a wide range of crustaceans, host species exhibit varying susceptibility and mortality rates. Mud crabs, Scylla serrata, a high-value aquaculture commodity across the Indo-Pacific region, are known to be relatively resistant to WSSV.

The Natural Resistance Associated Macrophage Proteins (NRAMPs) are membrane-targeted transporters with low substrate specificity, that mediate the import (translocation to the cytoplasm) of metals, mainly essential nutrients, e.g. iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu) or nickel (Ni).
