A Pd-catalyzed formal (4 + 1)-cycloaddition approach to 2,3-disubstituted dihydroindoles is described. The diastereoselective formation of dihydroindoles that is highlighted by a carbene migratory insertion/reductive elimination sequence proceeding via a π-allyl Pd-species compliments existing methods of indoline assembly.

It is claimed that polygenic risk scores will transform disease prevention, but a typical polygenic risk score for a common disease only detects 11% of affected individuals at a 5% false positive rate. This level of screening performance is not useful. Claims to the contrary are either due to incorrect interpretation of the data or other influences.

Cannabis use is common among US youth who become involved in the juvenile legal system (JLS), yet substance use treatment rates remain low, particularly among youth diverted away from formal JLS involvement. Diverted youth encounter multiple barriers to receiving services in the community that could be addressed via digital approaches offered by the JLS. This multiphase work details development of the TECH (Teen Empowerment through Computerized Health) app, a tailored digital adjunct to usual JLS services.

Introduction: Flow-diverting (FD) stents are increasingly used to treat small, unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA), but high-quality, unbiased data on initial complications and clinical outcomes were limited in previous literature reviews. We updated the literature review to assess quality, potential bias, complications and short-term outcomes in studies on FD-stents for UIAs.
Patients And Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library until January 9, 2025 for studies on FD-stents for UIAs.
Aim: The purpose of this study was to assess whether the use of spray-type anti-adhesion material during diverting ileostomy construction could reduce the surgeon's multidimensional workload, the degree of adhesion, and the operation time in ileostomy closure.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with rectal cancer, who were scheduled for laparoscopic or robotic rectal surgery followed by diverting ileostomy, were single-blindly (patient-blind), randomly assigned to either the AdSpray™ arm or the control arm. The primary endpoint was the multidimensional workload of the ileostomy closure operator (SURG-TLX value).

Background: In home-based hospice care, frontline nurses frequently need to take unscheduled incoming calls while out in the field. This interrupts critical tasks and disrupts patient rapport, potentially lowering care quality for patients. At HCA Hospice in Singapore, the 30 frontline nurses could receive up to 135 calls/day.
