Introduction: Spatial hearing enables both voluntary localization of sound sources and automatic monitoring of the surroundings. The auditory looming bias (ALB), characterized by the prioritized processing of approaching (looming) sounds over receding ones, is thought to serve as an early hazard detection mechanism. The bias could theoretically reflect an adaptation to the low-level acoustic properties of approaching sounds, or alternatively necessitate the sound to be localizable in space.

Background: While testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT) survival exceeds 90%, many survivors of adult TGCT are at risk for treatment toxicities. Less is known about physical morbidities in children, adolescents, and young adults (CAYA) with TGCT.
Methods: We used the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario Networked Information System, the Initiative to Maximize Progress in Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Therapy, and the Ontario Cancer Registry to identify all CAYA males diagnosed with TGCT from 1992 to 2021 at age 11-21 years in Ontario, Canada.

Background: Hallucinations and other unusual sensory experiences (USE) are common in people with psychosis. Yet access to effective psychological therapies remains limited. We evaluated if we can increase access to psychological therapy by using a brief treatment, focused only on understanding and dealing with hallucinations (Managing Unusual Sensory Experiences; MUSE), delivered by a less trained but more widely available workforce that harnessed the benefits (engaging content, standardisation) afforded by digital technology.

Aging Biomarker Consortium (ABC), Beijing, China.
The global surge in the population of people 60 years and older, including that in China, challenges healthcare systems with rising age-related diseases. To address this demographic change, the Aging Biomarker Consortium (ABC) has launched the X-Age Project to develop a comprehensive aging evaluation system tailored to the Chinese population. Our goal is to identify robust biomarkers and construct composite aging clocks that capture biological age, defined as an individual's physiological and molecular state, across diverse Chinese cohorts.
