The regulation of the local structure around Er ions is an important channel for adjusting the characteristic of up-conversion luminescence. In this paper, the cubic-phased Er:CaF crystals with different Er doping concentrations were fabricated with temperature gradient technique (TGT) method and the effect of the local coordination structure of the Er ions on its luminescence performance was investigated. The local coordination structure of Er ions was simulated by density functional theory. The computational results show that clusters evolve from low order to high order with the increase of Er ion doping concentration. In this evolution process, the local structure transforms from cubic structure to the co-existence of cubic and lower symmetric square anti-prism structures. Meanwhile, the distance between Er ions in the cluster decreased first and then increased slightly, and in dimers and trimers this distance reached the minimum. Under 980 nm excitation, with the increase of Er ion concentration, the intensity ratios of the red and green emissions of Er:CaF first increased from 0.61 to 42.03 and then decreased to 12.11. The corresponding up-conversion luminescence gamut was adjusted from monochrome green to red to red-yellow. This work provides a new thread for realizing upconversion multicolor luminescence by regulating the clusters of rare earth ions.

Tires are complex polymeric materials composed of rubber elastomers (both natural and synthetic), fillers, steel wire, textiles, and a range of antioxidant and curing systems. These constituents are distributed differently among the various tire parts, which are classified based on their function and proximity to the rim. This study presents a rapid and sensitive approach for the characterization of tire components using mild thermal desorption/pyrolysis (TDPy) coupled to direct analysis in real-time mass spectrometry (DART-MS).

We systematically evaluated the DNA adsorption and desorption efficiencies of several nanoparticles. Among them, titanium dioxide (TiO₂) nanoparticles (NPs), aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) NPs, and zinc oxide (ZnO) NPs exhibited strong DNA-binding capacities under mild conditions. However, phosphate-mediated DNA displacement efficiencies varied considerably, with only TiO₂ NPs showing consistently superior performance.

In this study, both pure and calcium-containing complex liposomes made from DPPC phospholipids were investigated using calorimetric and spectrophotometric methods. Liposomes were prepared using a new technology in both water and a 20% glycerol aqueous solution. Glycerol allows drug-containing DPPC liposomes to penetrate the dermis of the skin through the epidermis.

Through high-pressure diamond anvil cell experiments, we report the synthesis of two novel potassium superhydrides (KH-I and KH-II) and investigate their structural and vibrational properties via synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, complemented by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Above 17 GPa at room temperature, KH-II and H react to form KH-I; this reaction can be accelerated with temperature. KH-I possesses a face-centered-cubic () potassium sublattice with a slight rhombohedral distortion (space group 3̅).

The growing consumer interest in functional and health-oriented foods prompted the incorporation of tartary buckwheat sprout flour (TBSF) into food production. The addition of TBSF enhanced the nutritional value of noodles. Research has shown that as the proportion of TBSF increased, both the water absorption rate and thermal stability of the dough improved, while formation time decreased and dough aging was inhibited.
