We present a model for digital neural impairment screening and self-assessment, which can evaluate cognitive and motor deficits for patients with symptoms of central nervous system (CNS) disorders, such as mild cognitive impairment (MCI), Parkinson's disease (PD), Huntington's disease (HD), or dementia. The data was collected with an Android mobile application that can track cognitive, hand tremor, energy expenditure, and speech features of subjects. We extracted 238 features as the model inputs using 16 tasks, 12 of them were based on a self-administered cognitive testing (SAGE) methodology and others used finger tapping and voice features acquired from the sensors of a smart mobile device (smartphone or tablet). Fifteen subjects were involved in the investigation: 7 patients with neurological disorders (1 with Parkinson's disease, 3 with Huntington's disease, 1 with early dementia, 1 with cerebral palsy, 1 post-stroke) and 8 healthy subjects. The finger tapping, SAGE, energy expenditure, and speech analysis features were used for neural impairment evaluations. The best results were achieved using a fusion of 13 classifiers for combined finger tapping and SAGE features (96.12% accuracy), and using bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) (94.29% accuracy) for speech analysis features.

To compare two rehabilitation regimens for chronic stroke patients with a hemiparetic hand, we randomly assigned them to either music-supported therapy or physiotherapy for 10 weeks. Background: Precisely timed brain stimulation, such as phase-locked deep brain stimulation (PLDBS), offers a promising approach to modulating dysfunctional neural networks by enhancing or suppressing specific oscillations. However, its clinical application has been hindered by the lack of user-friendly systems and the challenge of real-time phase estimation amid stimulation artifacts.
Material And Method: In this work, we developed a clinically translatable PLDBS framework that enables real-time, cycle-by-cycle stimulation using standard amplifiers and a computer-in-the-loop system.

Complex neural activity of the motor cortex is posited to serve as the foundation for a large repertoire of activation patterns crucial for executing movements. As transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) predominantly activates monosynaptic fast-conducting corticospinal projections, which are involved in dexterous movement control, complexity of neural outputs elicited by TMS may reflect an underlying repertoire of activation patterns crucial for executing dexterous movements. We proposed to quantify dimensionality of multi-muscle motor-evoked potentials (MEPs) through dimensionality reduction as an integrated measure to reflect complexity of neural outputs elicited by TMS.

Individuals with isolated REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) are at high risk of developing α-synucleinopathies, particularly Parkinson's disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). With the development of potential neuroprotective treatments for synucleinopathies, including PD, identifying clinical features that can allow for tracking subtle changes in prodromal disease and thereby monitoring risk of phenoconversion in iRBD is paramount. Subtle motor deficits have been suggested to be present in iRBD, making them potentially important clinical markers for predicting future phenoconversion.
