Background And Aims: This study aimed to describe Crohn's disease perianal fistulizing lesions in patients undergoing surgery over 60 years to compare clinical presentation, management and outcomes with those observed in younger patients.
Methods: Between January 2012 and December 2022, all patients over 60 years old who underwent a first surgical intervention for anal fistula at two medical centers were included. For each patient included, two younger patients who underwent the same surgical procedure during the same period in the same centers were matched for comparison.

An ongoing goal of top-down mass spectrometry is to increase the performance for larger proteins. Using higher energy activation methods, like 193 nm ultraviolet photodissociation (UVPD), offers the potential to cause more extensive fragmentation of large proteins and thereby yield greater sequence coverage. Obtaining high sequence coverage requires confident identification and assignment of fragment ions, and this process is hampered by spectral congestion and low signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) of the fragment ions.

Polysorbate 20 (PS20) is one of the most commonly used non-ionic surfactants in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food products. Considered as biocompatible and non-irritating, it is further valued for its solubilising and protein stabilising properties. PS20 is manufactured through a multi-stage reaction of sorbitol with various fatty acids and ethylene oxide, resulting in a complex mixture of components with different molecular weights and polarity.

The contamination of agricultural soils with military-grade explosives such as 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazaccyclohexane (RDX) and 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetraazacyclohexane (HMX) is an emerging concern in post-conflict regions, where food crops may take up these compounds. This study presents a novel analytical approach for detecting explosive residues in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grown on contaminated substrates.
