ObjectiveSarcopenia poses a significant global public health burden, underscoring the urgency of identifying reliable risk markers for early detection and intervention. This study aimed to elucidate the association between the neutrophil-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio and sarcopenia as well as explore how various covariates modify this relationship.MethodsA cross-sectional analysis was performed using data from 9040 individuals who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2011-2018, of whom 721 were diagnosed with sarcopenia.

Objectives: This study examined the acute impact of percussion massage therapy (PMT) on calf muscle activation during heel raises in individuals with and without chronic ankle instability (CAI).
Methods: Thirty-nine university students, 20 with CAI and 19 controls, were randomized to 30 seconds of PMT or no intervention (NOPMT). Surface EMG measured medial gastrocnemius activity during heel raise before and after.

Background: Cervical disc herniation (CDH) is a common musculoskeletal disorder characterized by chronic neck pain, impaired proprioception, kinesiophobia, and functional limitations, often requiring multimodal conservative care. Myofascial techniques, including Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and percussion massage therapy (PMT), have emerged as supportive physiotherapy interventions. This randomized controlled trial compared the effects of IASTM and PMT on pain, disability, kinesiophobia, and proprioceptive function in individuals with CDH.

Almost 1 million US adults are diagnosed annually with post-traumatic stress disorder related to medical trauma. Individuals who experience life-threatening illness or injuries, frequent hospitalizations, and multiple invasive procedures are more likely to develop post-traumatic stress and touch aversion, making it difficult for them to relax and feel safe in healthcare settings. Psychological and somatic symptoms can complicate recovery and decrease quality of life.

Objective: This meta-analysis attempted to rigorously delineate the efficacy of intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) as a neuromodulatory intervention for post-stroke motor impairments by integrating evidence exclusively from randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Methods: Seven databases, namely, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, the Cochrane Library, Wanfang, VIP, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), were searched. Eligible studies covered RCTs that directly compared the influences of iTBS with sham or placebo interventions in cases recovering from stroke.
