Article Abstract

IDM-1 is a new silica zeolite with an ordered and well-defined framework constructed by alternating pentasil layers and interrupted layers, giving rise to an intersecting system of straight medium pores and undulating extra-large lobed pores. This unique structure was solved by rotation electron diffraction and refined against synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction data. Despite the presence of both Si(OSi) (OH) and Si(OSi) (OH) sites, this new zeolite presents high thermal stability, withstanding calcination even to 1000 °C. The location of defects at specific sites of the structure results in alternating hydrophobic SiO and hydrophilic SiO (OH) intracrystalline regions. This peculiar combination of intersecting medium and extra-large pores and alternating regions of different chemical character may provide this zeolite with unique catalytic properties.

Introduction: Perceived stigma is a common and distressing experience among people with epilepsy (PWE), particularly those with additional marginalized identities. Our team developed RISE ABOVE, a self-paced online stigma self-management program, to reduce stigma-related distress. This secondary analysis of pilot data examined how intersecting stigmas (i.

Nutritional Dimensions of Sports Tourism: Runners' Encounters with Polish Local Food Cultures.

Nutrients

August 2025

Department of Sports Tourism, Faculty of Physical Culture Sciences, Poznan University of Physical Education, 61-871 Poznan, Poland.

Although nutrition is widely recognized as a key factor in post-event recovery in sports, little attention has been given to how its cultural and social dimensions-embodied in local cuisine-intersect with the needs of traveling athletes, for whom food often also serves as a medium of cultural immersion and sensory exploration. Poland, with its rich regional culinary traditions and numerous international running events, offers a compelling context in which to explore these interactions. This study aims to understand the role of local cuisine in the experiences of foreign runners participating in the Poznan Half Marathon 2025, with particular attention on cultural engagement, tourist motivations, and post-exercise recovery processes.

Evaluating safety countermeasures at suburban arterial intersections: Addressing unobserved heterogeneity and selection bias.

Key Laboratory of Road and Traffic Engineering, Ministry of Education, Shanghai 201804, China; College of Transportation Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai 201804, China.

About 40% of road traffic crashes occur at intersections, with suburban arterial intersections facing significant safety challenges due to urban sprawl. Over the past two decades, highways in suburban areas of many Chinese cities, originally designed for medium- and long-distance vehicle travel, now accommodate more short- and medium-distance trips, including pedestrians and cyclists. Discrepancies between original planning characteristics and current usage have led to increased safety risks at suburban arterial intersections.
