is an opportunistic pathogen that is associated with outbreaks of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis, septicaemia, and meningitis. Reconstituted powdered infant formulae is the most common vehicle of infection. The aim of the present study is to gain insight into the physiological states of cells using flow cytometry to detect the compromised cells, which are viable but non-culturable using plate-based methods, and to evaluate the impact of milk heat treatments on those populations. Dead-cell suspensions as well as heat-treated and non-heat-treated cell suspensions were used. After 60 or 65 °C treatments, the number of compromised cells increased as a result of cells with compromised membranes shifting from the heat-treated suspension. These temperatures were not effective at killing all bacteria but were effective at compromising their membranes. Thus, mild heat treatments are not enough to guarantee the safety of powered infant formulae. Flow cytometry was capable of detecting 's compromised cells that cannot be detected with classical plate count methods; thus, it could be used as a screening test to decrease the risk derived from the presence of pathogenic viable but non-culturable cells in this food that is intended for newborns' nutrition.

Background: The methylation of and its influence on protein stability and degradation could play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), although the underlying molecular mechanisms are not yet fully understood. This study investigates the molecular and bioinformatic features of methylation in T2DM.
Methods: Bioinformatics analyses were conducted on the T2DM database chip.

Background: Voghera pepper (VP) extracts were demonstrated to have anti-oxidant ability in several cell types.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess whether VP-extracts could lower oxidative stress and modulate thyroid cancer (TC) cells behavior .
Methods: Extracts were analyzed using the LC-DAD-MS system.

Background: The diagnostic accuracy of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) for the diagnosis of lymphoma has a low overall sensitivity. The lack of tissue architecture obtained by cytological needles decreases the diagnostic accuracy for diagnosis and subtyping of and relapsed mediastinal lymphomas. This study compares the sensitivity of EBUS-TBNA and endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial mediastinal cryobiopsy (EBUS-TMC) for both initial lymphoma diagnosis and recurrent cases, analyses safety, and evaluates the number of mediastinoscopies that could potentially be avoided due to this novel technique.

Background: Mixed-phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL) is a rare acute leukemia for which data are currently not available to guide therapy. It has a poor outcome, particularly in elderly patients.
Case Presentation: We report the successful use of venetoclax/azacitidine as treatment for a treatment-naive elderly patient with early T-cell precursor (ETP)/myeloid MPAL.

Background: Insulinoma, the most common type of pancreatic endocrine tumor, frequently induces hypoglycemia due to persistent hyperinsulinemia. Although Mi-Lnc70 expression progressively increases during pancreatic maturation in mice, the biological role of Mi-Lnc70 in pancreatic β cells remains elusive.
Aim: This study was designed to investigate the role of LncRNA-Mi-Lnc70 in the mouse pancreatic β-cell line MIN6.
