Purpose: The current cervical cancer screening program in Germany recommends that the results showing suspected HPV infection should be further examined in specialized colposcopy units. This study aimed to correlate externally documented Pap smear results with in-house colposcopy-guided Pap cytology results and compare colposcopy-guided biopsy and postoperative histopathology results.
Methods: Clinical data were analyzed from 3627 examinations in 2844 patients who visited a university certified dysplasia unit from 2014 to 2017; 2212 patients underwent complete assessments, including Pap smear, colposcopy, HPV testing, colposcopy-guided biopsy, and/or surgery. The results were analyzed descriptively.
Results: External and in-house Pap results were consistent in 1054 ofthe 2212 patients (47.65%). Referral cytology showed a higher grade than in-house in 456 (20.61%) and a lower grade in 702 (31.74%). Using the histopathological findings as the gold standard, overdiagnosis in the referral cytology was noted in 180 patients (13.19%), underdiagnosis in 263 (19.27%), and concordant findings in 922 (67.55%). For in-house cytology, overdiagnosis was found in 133 patients (10.74%), underdiagnosis in 192 (15.51%), and accurate diagnosis with congruent cytology and histopathology findings in 913 (73.75%).
Conclusions: The rate of detection of cervical abnormalities differs significantly depending on whether the examination is performed routinely or in specialized units. Colposcopy-guided Pap smears correlate significantly better with histology than referral cytology results without colposcopic guidance. More severe lesions were also detected more accurately.

The European Council recommends adopting risk-based screening when relevant. In triaging HPV-positive women, it can be an effective strategy to reduce overtreatment and referral to colposcopy. HPV genotyping and p16/ki67 expression may allow a better risk stratification than cytology.

Acute myeloid leukaemia-normal karyotype (AML-NK) exhibits heterogeneity in expression profiles, influencing the treatment response and survival outcome. Transcriptome sequencing allows a comprehensive analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and dysregulated pathways in AML-NK, shedding light on the molecular mechanisms and their implications in patients' management. DEG analyses utilising transcriptome sequencing were conducted using a customised DESeq2 pipeline on 51 AML-NK patients at diagnosis (DX), 12 AML-NK patients who attained first remission (CR1) and 12 healthy controls.

Introduction: As diagnostic complexity in pathology increases, mainly in cancer diagnoses, the demand for second opinions from specialized and highly qualified centres also increases. There is a certain lack of uniformity in the criteria for carrying out these consultations, managing the material under review, and the responses from the consultant centre.
Material And Methods: In order to establish recommendations on the aspects to be considered both by the pathologist or referring centre and by the pathologist or consultant centre, a group of experts from the Spanish Society of Anatomical Pathology conducted a literature review of guidelines and recommendations from other societies and relevant published articles.

Introduction: Hypoalbuminemia is linked to an earlier onset of acquired immune deficiency syndrome and increased mortality in patients living with HIV infection. Serum albumin is therefore an independent factor for the prediction of disease progression and mortality in People Living With HIV.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted at Lira Regional Referral Hospital in northern Uganda that targeted HIV-positive outpatients attending the ART clinic with a sample size of 373 patients.

Background: Rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) of thyroid fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) improves diagnostic adequacy and facilitates ancillary molecular testing. In this prospective, multireader study, the authors evaluated the feasibility of using whole-slide images (WSIs) for ROSE to determine specimen adequacy and preliminary categorization (according to The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology [Bethesda]) of image-guided thyroid FNABs compared with conventional light-microscopic (LM) examination of the same specimens in a referral cancer center.
Methods: The authors evaluated 98 ultrasound-guided thyroid FNAB cases.
