Objectives: To balance the extended functional urinary voiding and morbidity outcomes amid Ileal W and Y-shaped contrasted to spherical ileocoecal (IC) orthotopic bladders subsequent prostate-sparing radical cystectomy (PRC) versus standard radical cystoprostatectomy (RC).
Material And Methods: Two hundred eight male bladder cancer patients were grouped into 98 RC followed by 43-W, 31-Y, and 23-IC in comparison to 110 PRC followed by 35-W, 37-Y, and 38-IC. The functional voiding outcomes were determined by detailed patients' interview and urodynamic studies (UDS).

The coexistence of antibiotics (AB) and microplastics (MP) in the environment has led to the formation of AB-MP complexes, posing several ecological and public health challenges. This review explores the mechanisms driving AB adsorption onto MPs, including diverse interactions (hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bonding, π-π stacking, and ionic exchange) and their role in maintaining the persistence and mobility of the complexes. These complexes have been reported to serve as reservoirs/vectors for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), disrupt microbial communities, and enhance the bioavailability of ABs, thus posing various threats affecting biodiversity health and ecosystem stability.

Despite extensive research, the pathogenesis of Post-Polio Syndrome (PPS) remains unclear. We investigated 251 participants from Northern Italy: long-term polio survivors with PPS, long-term polio survivors with stable polio, family members of both groups, subjects with neurological disorders other than poliomyelitis, and healthy controls. This study investigated whether persistent viral activity or the existence of viral reservoirs contributes to causing PPS.

Neptunium exhibits truly unique chemistry as its speciation is dominated by the neptunyl(V) ion (NpO). Here, we describe the spontaneous destabilization and reduction of neptunyl(V) via complexation to the Keggin-type polyoxometalate (POM) ligand PWO. The POM-mediated reduction of NpO does not require any reducing agent and occurs within minutes, at room temperature, and in aqueous solution.

Background: Limited mpox vaccination coverage, declining cross-protection from historical smallpox vaccination campaigns, and persistent zoonotic reservoirs leave many sub-Saharan countries susceptible to mpox outbreaks. With millions of vaccine doses made available to the region since late 2024 and the absence of country-specific guidelines for allocation, estimating the country-specific impact of one-time mass vaccination strategies is necessary for ongoing outbreaks and other countries at future risk.
Methods And Findings: We adapted a next generation matrix model to project disease transmission potential for 47 sub-Saharan countries from 2025 to 2050 under four transmission scenarios with different contributions of community versus sexual contacts.
