Article Abstract

A new adsorbent matrix (Cel-SiN) for the adsorption of the dye eosin yellow (EY) and the drug amitriptyline (AMI) from aqueous media has been synthesized. The Cel-SiN matrix was obtained via chemical modification of cellulose with (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane. Successful modification was confirmed using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and C and Si solid state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) spectroscopies, thermal analysis (TG/DTG), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and elemental analysis. The effects of pH, contact time, concentration, and temperature were evaluated in batch adsorption tests. Cel-SiN efficiently adsorbed AMI and EY in aqueous media, with maximum adsorption capacities of 92.28 ± 1.34 mg g for AMI (pH = 7, time =240 min, and temperature = 318 K) and 61.0 ± 0.36 mg g for EY (pH = 5, time =80 min, and temperature = 298 K). The adsorption process occurs mainly via hydrogen bonding interactions for AMI and electrostatic interactions for EY.

To explore optimized protocols for paraffin section preparation of the eyeball to enhance the histological visualization of key ocular structures. It was an experimental research, conducted from September 2022 to September 2024. The first experiment involved 18 porcine eyeballs, which were divided into five groups (six subgroups) by the random number table method.

Designing heterostructure-based nanocomposites has gained considerable interest in solving energy scarcity and environmental contamination issues. Herein, a heterojunction assembly of ternary SnS/MoS/g-CN nanocomposites with varying Sn and Mo weight ratios was synthesized through a single-step hydrothermal method. At an optimized ratio of tin to molybdenum (1 : 2), denoted as SM-3, promising electrochemical and photocatalytic performances were observed compared to bare SnS/g-CN and MoS/g-CN.

The present study involved the facile and green preparation of FeO/HAP/Ag (HAP:hydroxyapatite) nanocomposites as catalyst, and followed by comprehensive investigation of their photocatalytic degradation four types of dyes. The photocatalytic degradation of sunset yellow, eosin, allure red and sudan red III dyes under illuminated circumstances were conducted. The structure and morphology of the catalyst was characterized and analyzed by advanced analytical techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), mapping and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

Multiferroic BiFeO, BiFeO and BiFeO/BiFeO nanostructures were synthesised by a low-temperature hydrothermal method by varying the reaction temperature and time without any further post-heat treatment procedure. The as-prepared nanostructures were examined utilising X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibration sample magnetometry (VSM) techniques to assess their physicochemical and magnetic properties. XRD analysis revealed the formation of BiFeO, BiFeO and BiFeO/BiFeO with an average crystallite size in the range of 44-52 nm, and the lattice strains due to crystal imperfections were also investigated by W-H analysis.

Background: Avian aspergillosis is primarily a respiratory disease that can spread to other organs, resulting in systemic aspergillosis.

Aim: This report describes the clinical and pathological features of multisystemic aspergillosis caused by in a meat turkey flock, including an unusual case of vertebral osteomyelitis.

Methods: Five affected turkeys were necropsied from a flock size of 1,000 birds.
