Inverse design methods produce nanophotonic devices with arbitrary geometries that show high efficiencies as well as novel functionalities. Ensuring fabricability during optimization of these unrestricted device geometries is a major challenge for these design methods. In this work, we construct a fabrication constraint penalty function for level set geometry representations of these devices. This analytical penalty function limits both the gap size and boundary curvature of a device. We incorporate this penalty in a fully automated optical design flow using a quasi-Newton optimization method. The performance of our design method is evaluated by designing a series of waveguide demultiplexers (WDM) and mode converters with various footprints and minimum feature sizes. Finally, we design and experimentally characterize three WDMs with a 80 nm, 120 nm and 160 nm feature size.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop an ICF core set for assessing stroke survivors in community-based rehabilitation settings in Hong Kong.
Material And Methods: A three-round Delphi process which involved 39 multidisciplinary experts in community-based rehabilitation services was conducted to reach consensus on a preliminary version of ICF core set for stroke survivors. The initial questionnaire included 130 second-level ICF categories while the panel was invited to suggest additional categories.

Background: Lateral malleolar avulsion fracture (LMAF) and subfibular ossicle (SFO) are distinct entities that both present as small bone fragments near the lateral malleolus on imaging, yet require different treatment strategies. Clinical and radiological differentiation is challenging, which can impede timely and precise management. On imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the diagnostic gold standard for differentiating LMAF from SFO, whereas radiological differentiation on computed tomography (CT) alone is challenging in routine practice.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the toxic metals (TMs) pollution, bioaccumulation and its potential health risk via consumption of different vegetables irrigated by different water sources released from industrial estates of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Water (fresh and waste), soil and vegetables samples were collected in triplicates and acid digested. Digestion of samples were followed by evaporation and filtration and then assessed for TMs via atomic absorption spectrophotometer.
