Article Abstract

A family of mono- and ditopic hydroxamic acids has been employed in the synthesis and structural and physical characterisation of discrete (0D) and (1- and 2-D) extended network coordination complexes. Examples of the latter include the 1-D coordination polymer {[Zn(ii)(LH)]·2MeOH} (5; LH = 2-(methylamino)phenylhydroxamic acid) and the 2-D extended network {[Cu(ii)(LH)(HO)(NO)]·HO} (5; LH = 4-amino-2-(acetoxy)phenylhydroxamic acid). The 12-MC-4 metallacrown [Cu(ii)(LH)(MeOH)(NO)]·3HO·4MeOH (7) represents the first metal complex constructed using the novel ligand N-hydroxy-2-[(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl)amino]benzamide (LH). Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility studies confirm strong antiferromagnetic exchange between the Cu(ii) centres in 7. Coordination polymer 5 shows photoluminescence in the blue region (λ∼ 421-450 nm) with a bathochromic shift of the emission (∼15-30 nm) from solution to the solid state.

Wearable sensors integrated with deep learning techniques have the potential to revolutionize seamless human-machine interfaces for real-time health monitoring, clinical diagnosis, and robotic applications. Nevertheless, it remains a critical challenge to simultaneously achieve desirable mechanical and electrical performance along with biocompatibility, adhesion, self-healing, and environmental robustness with excellent sensing metrics. Herein, we report a multifunctional, anti-freezing, self-adhesive, and self-healable organogel pressure sensor composed of cobalt nanoparticle encapsulated nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (CoN CNT) embedded in a polyvinyl alcohol-gelatin (PVA/GLE) matrix.

Unveiling the Hierarchical Network of Sleep Quality Determinants: Linking Behavioral, Environmental, and Psychosocial Pathways.

Background: Sleep quality has emerged as a critical public health concern, yet our understanding of how multiple determinants interact to influence sleep outcomes remains limited. This study employed partial correlation network analysis to examine the hierarchical structure of sleep quality determinants among Chinese adults.

Methods: We investigated the interrelationships among nine key factors: daily activity rhythm, social interaction frequency, work-life balance, light exposure, physical activity level, time control perception, shift work, weekend catch-up sleep, and sleep quality using the extended Bayesian Information Criterion (EBIC) glasso model.

There is limited understanding of the impact of anti-IL5 treatment on nasal polyp tissue biology in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). This study examined nasal polyp tissue cellular proteome and transcriptome responses to anti-IL5 treatment in CRSwNP utilising spatial profiling. GeoMx™ Digital Spatial Profiling (DSP) of 80 proteins and 1,833 mRNA targets in the polyp stroma and the whole transcriptome (18,815 mRNA targets) in polyp epithelia was undertaken on sinonasal biopsies collected from 20 individuals with eosinophilic CRSwNP before and after 16 and 24 weeks of mepolizumab treatment.

Background: Multiple non-pharmacological and nonsurgical interventions have demonstrated efficacy in improving abdominal obesity. However, the optimal intervention remains uncertain. This study aimed to assess the relative effectiveness and safety of these interventions in reducing waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), body mass index (BMI), and body weight among adults with abdominal obesity.
