Article Abstract

We present the synthesis of metal nanowires in a multiplexed device configuration using single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) as nanoscale vector templates. The SWNT templates control the dimensionality of the wires, allowing precise control of their size, shape, and orientation; moreover, a solution-processable approach enables their linear deposition between specific electrode pairs in electronic devices. Electrical characterization demonstrated the successful fabrication of metal nanowire electronic devices, while multiscale characterization of the different fabrication steps revealed details of the structure and charge transfer between the material encapsulated and the carbon nanotube. Overall the strategy presented allows facile, low-cost, and direct synthesis of multiplexed metal nanowire devices for nanoelectronic applications.

Background: Over the past decade, the proportion of the world's population aged ≥65 years has grown exponentially, presenting significant challenges, such as social isolation and loneliness among this population. Assistive technologies have shown potential in enhancing the quality of life for older adults by improving their physical, cognitive, and communication abilities. Research has shown that smart televisions are user-friendly and commonly used among older adults.

Objective: Aim: To analyse the effectiveness of the National Health Service of Ukraine, which performs the functions of a purchaser of medical services and medicines under the Medical Guarantees Programme during wartime, as well as to identify and characterise the key challenges it faces and to propose effective solutions based on statistical data and comparative analysis concerning the provision of high-quality and effective medical care to the population, along with suggesting the development of promising directions for improving the performance of the National Health Service..

Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: Retrospective, analytical, and modelling methods were used to assess the main processes related to the activities of the National Health Service of Ukraine as a key actor in the financing of medical services within the healthcare system under martial law conditions in Ukraine.

Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) enable direct communication between the brain and computers. However, their long-term functionality remains limited due to signal degradation caused by acute insertion trauma, chronic foreign body reaction (FBR), and biofouling at the device-tissue interface. To address these challenges, we introduce a multifunctional surface modification strategy called targeting-specific interaction and blocking nonspecific adhesion (TAB) coating for flexible fiber, achieving a synergistic integration of mechanical compliance and biochemical stability.

IFN-β, a type I interferon, has been used as a first-line therapy for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) for more than 30 years; however, the cellular and molecular basis of its therapeutic efficacy remains unclear. Here, we first used experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a mouse model for MS, to show that the therapeutic effects of IFN-β were associated with a down-regulation of microRNA-21 (miR-21) and pathogenic T17 (pT17) cells. In vitro experiments demonstrated that genetic knockout of miR-21 directly inhibited pathogenic T17 cell differentiation.

Replication of cellular chromosomes requires a primase to generate short RNA primers to initiate genomic replication. While bacterial and archaeal primase generate short RNA primers, the eukaryotic primase, Polα-primase, contains both RNA primase and DNA polymerase (Pol) subunits that function together to form a >20 base hybrid RNA-DNA primer. Interestingly, the DNA Pol1 subunit of Polα lacks a 3'-5' proofreading exonuclease, contrary to the high-fidelity normally associated with DNA replication.
