Rice-pathogenic bacteria cause severe harvest loss and challenge a stable food supply. The pathogen virulence relies strongly on bacterial TALE (transcription activator-like effector) proteins that function as transcriptional activators inside the plant cell. To understand the plant targets of TALEs, we determined the genome sequences of the Indian pv. () type strain ICMP 3125 and the strain PXO142 from the Philippines. Their complete TALE repertoire was analyzed and genome-wide TALE targets in rice were characterized. Integrating computational target predictions and rice transcriptomics data, we were able to verify 12 specifically induced target rice genes. The TALEs of the strains were reconstructed and expressed in a TALE-free strain to attribute specific induced genes to individual TALEs. Using reporter assays, we could show that individual TALEs act directly on their target promoters. In particular, we show that TALE classes assigned by AnnoTALE reflect common target genes, and that TALE classes of and the related pathogen pv. share more common target genes than previously believed. Taken together, we establish a detailed picture of TALE-induced plant processes that significantly expands our understanding of virulence strategies and will facilitate the development of novel resistances to overcome this important rice disease.

Contemporary debates about artificial intelligence (AI) still treat automation as a straightforward substitution of human labor by machines. Drawing on Goffman's dramaturgical sociology, this paper reframes AI in the workplace as rather than automation. We argue that the central-but routinely overlooked-terrain of struggle is symbolic-interactional: workers continuously stage, conceal, and re-negotiate what counts as "real" work and professional competence.

Purpose: Personal narrative production, or the ability to talk about past events that have been personally experienced, relies on a wide range of linguistic skills and is influenced by memory and socio-emotional traits. This study investigated the predictive role of memory mechanisms and socio-emotional functioning on personal narrative production in children with developmental language disorder (DLD) compared to children with typical language development (TLD).
Method: Fifty 9- to 11-year-old Croatian-speaking children with DLD and 50 gender-matched peers with TLD narrated personal narratives elicited through emotion-based prompts using the Global TALES (Talking About Lived Experiences in Stories) protocol.

Background: Internet browsing is a daily activity for many young people. However, how internet browsing affects young people's resilience and positive (vs negative) outlook on life remains largely unaddressed. Critically, how reading classical fairy tales may help mitigate the influence of internet browsing on resilience and foster a more positive rather than negative outlook on life has yet to be explored.

The paper explores the universal validity of the Oedipus complex in different cultures, particularly in Asia, and discusses the role of psychoanalysis as an anchor in chaotic times. The author delves into the objections raised by Asian cultures to the universal validity of the Oedipus complex. They provide examples from Indian, Chinese, and Japanese myths that challenge Freud's concept.

Introduction: Promoting sports in schools is a key strategy to address childhood obesity and raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity. The "Trofei di Milano Cortina 2026" initiative, in collaboration with Buzzi Children's Hospital in Milan, launched a comprehensive school-based campaign to promote Olympism and healthy lifestyles.
Methods: The initiative involved 350 schools across primary and lower secondary levels, offering free educational and sports activities in two phases: a year-long educational component followed by a final sports event.
