Objective: Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) present a significant long-term threat to human health attributable to their toxicological properties, chemical stability and propensity for bioaccumulation. This study seeks to explore the correlation between PCDDs exposure and prostate cancer (PCa) through comprehensive analysis.
Methods: The multi-dimensional analysis was conducted based on various online databases.

Human dietary exposure to polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs), dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL-PCBs) and non dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (NDL-PCBs) is of worldwide scientific concern due to the health hazards associated with these compounds. In this study an estimation of the dietary intake of adolescents and adults in Greece was attempted for the first time. Representative samples from food categories widely consumed in Greece were collected and analyzed during a period of 21 years (2002-2022).

Persistent organic pollutants (POPs), including polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin/dibenzofuran (PCDD/Fs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), are widespread environmental contaminants that bioaccumulate in human, primarily through dietary intake. We conducted a cross-sectional study performed in Lausanne, Switzerland to investigate the association between the serum concentrations of POPs and individual characteristics. We measured 17 PCDD/Fs, 12 dl-PCBs and 6 i-PCBs in 80 volunteers.

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) have been reported to be associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM); thus, the knowledge of their endocrine disruption mechanisms would be vital for assessing health risks. This study revealed the potential mechanism of abnormal glucose metabolism due to acute PCB-153 exposure in HepG2 cells through integrated transcriptome and DNA methylation analysis. Based on a joint analysis of two omics, the random forest machine learning model was established with 200 trees and cross-validated five times.
