Article Abstract

Higher manganese silicide is generally used in thermoelectric devices between 700 K and 900 K. MnSiAl samples were fabricated by two continuous solid-state reactions followed by hot pressing because the electrical conductivity of all the samples is strongly dependent on Al doping, showing superior thermoelectric performance to the as-synthesized higher manganese silicide. The solid-state-reaction was performed at 1173 K for 6 hours. The effects of the sintering temperature were examined by sintering at three different temperatures: 1273 K, 1323 K and 1373 K. For the surface, microstructural, and electrical properties, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and a series of electric conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and thermal conductivity analyses were conducted, respectively. As a result, the optimal process temperature for Al-doped higher manganese silicide using a hot-press technique was determined.

Spinel lithium manganate (LiMnO) is considered a highly promising cobalt-free cathode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) owing to its three-dimensional Li-ion diffusion channels and the abundance of manganese. However, its practical applications are limited due to the substantial capacity deterioration induced by the Jahn-Teller effect and interfacial instability with the organic electrolyte. In this work, we propose a polyanion-based surface engineering strategy that enables simultaneous doping and the formation of a protective coating on the LiMnO cathode.

Two-dimensional 1T-phase MnIrO for high-performance acidic oxygen evolution reaction.

Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) is regarded as the most promising technique for the sustainable production of green hydrogen due to its multiple advantages such as high working current density and high hydrogen purity. However, the anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) has a significant impact on the overall efficiency of the electrolytic water reaction due to its sluggish kinetics, which has prompted the search for catalysts possessing both high activity and durability. Iridium oxide exhibits excellent stability under acidic conditions but has poor catalytic activity, leading to its inability to meet the strict requirements of large-scale industrial applications.

Background: Evidence on the relationship between dietary minerals and mental disorders remains limited and inconsistent. This study assessed the associations between twelve essential minerals and six major mental disorders.

Methods: We included 199,877 participants from the UK biobank without implausible energy intake, missing covariates, or baseline mental disorders.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the toxic metals (TMs) pollution, bioaccumulation and its potential health risk via consumption of different vegetables irrigated by different water sources released from industrial estates of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Water (fresh and waste), soil and vegetables samples were collected in triplicates and acid digested. Digestion of samples were followed by evaporation and filtration and then assessed for TMs via atomic absorption spectrophotometer.

Aims: Cardiac tumors are aggressive and asymptomatic in early stages, causing late diagnosis and locoregional metastasis. Currently, the standard of care uses gadolinium-based contrast agents for MRI, and the associated hypersensitivity reactions are a significant concern, such as gadolinium deposition disease. In addition, the proximity of cardiac lesions closer to vital structures complicates surgical interventions.
