Patients with hereditary gastrointestinal (GI) cancers represent a substantial fraction of the overall affected population. Although awareness for hereditary GI cancer syndromes is on the rise, identification of patients and measures of surveillance are often unclear in everyday clinical routine. Therefore, the European Society of Digestive Oncology expert discussion 2018 at the World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer focussed on screening and surveillance of hereditary colorectal, gastric and pancreatic cancers. An international panel of experts and opinion leaders developed the here presented recommendations based on published evidence and on profound clinical expertise to facilitate clinical routine in identification and caretaking of patients with familial GI cancers.

Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of the automated oscillometric upper-arm cuff blood pressure (BP) monitor Microlife BP3KV1-5X (BP B6 Connect) for home use in a general population according to the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation/European Society of Hypertension/International Organization for Standardization (AAMI/ESH/ISO) Universal Standard (ISO 81060-2:2018) and its amendments (1:2020 and 2:2024).
Methods: Participants were recruited to fulfill the age, sex, BP, and arm distribution criteria of the AAMI/ESH/ISO Universal Standard (ISO 81060-2:2018) and its amendments (1:2020 and 2:2024) in a general population using the same arm sequential measurement method. A single wide-range cuff of the test device was used for arm circumference 22-42 cm.

Tirzepatide is a unimolecular dual agonist of both glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptors, recently commercialized and reimbursed in Belgium for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Because of the complementarity of action of the two incretins, tirzepatide showed, in a dose-dependent manner (5, 10 and 15 mg as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection), a better efficacy (greater reduction in HbA1c and body weight) compared with placebo, semaglutide 1 mg, basal insulin and preprandial boluses of insulin lispro in six studies of the SURPASS programme. Tirzepatide tolerance is almost similar to that of pure GLP-1 receptor agonists, with digestive adverse events, most often during the first weeks after initiation, which justifies the recommendation of progressive titration every four weeks.

Whole blood (WB) transcriptomics offers a minimal-invasive method to assess patients' immune system. This study aimed to identify transcriptional patterns in WB associated with clinical outcomes in patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). We performed RNA-sequencing on pre-treatment WB samples from 145 patients with advanced cancer.
