Article Abstract

Objective: To control the quality of Limonitum by investigating the thermoanalysis curves.

Methods: Analysis Limonitum samples from different origins by Thermogravimetric-Differential Scanning Calorimetry( TG-DSC),and the processed samples and fake samples were analyzed to compare the difference of them at the same time.

Results: Thermal analysis curves showed that most of Limonitum samples had three weight loss steps in 30 ~ 1 000 ℃,and the process of dehydration weight loss of goethite was obviously in about309 ℃. There was a positive correlation between the weight loss rate of the second step and the content of iron.

Conclusion: The Thermal analysis method can provide reference to the identification and quality control of Limonitum.

Study Question: Does weight loss from a hypocaloric dietary intervention improve antral follicle dynamics in women with PCOS?

Summary Answer: During a 3-month hypocaloric dietary intervention, women with PCOS who experienced clinically meaningful weight loss showed more organized antral follicle development including fewer recruitment events, but no change in the overall frequency of selection, dominance, or ovulation.

What Is Known Already: There is a spectrum of disordered antral follicle development in women with PCOS including excessive follicle recruitment and turnover, decreased frequency of selection and dominance, and failure of ovulation. Lifestyle intervention aimed at weight loss is recommended to improve metabolic health in women with PCOS yet benefits on ovarian follicle development and ovulation are unclear.

A 16-year boy had a history of rash, oral ulcers, alopecia, photosensitivity, cheilitis, and weight loss, for which he was started on steroids, methotrexate, and hydroxychloroquine from outside. Three years later, he developed pericardial effusion and peripheral neuropathy, that were managed at an outside hospital. Later, he presented to us with weight loss, diffuse rash, left facial palsy, and left lateral rectus palsy.

Aims: Several diuretic strategies, including furosemide iv boluses (FB) or continuous infusion (FC), are used in acute heart failure (AHF).

Methods And Results: We systematically searched phase 3 randomized clinical trials (RCTs) evaluating diuretic regimens in admitted AHF patients within 48 hours and irrespective of clinical stabilization. We calculated the odds ratio (OR) of FC or FB plus another diuretic (sequential nephron blockade, SNB) compared to FB alone on 24-hour weight loss (WL) and worsening renal function (WRF), with a random-effects model with inverse variance weighting.

The differential diagnosis within polyuria-polydipsia syndrome, especially in the pediatric population, remains challenging. Despite its limited accuracy, the water deprivation test (WDT) is the reference test in pediatrics. We retrospectively analyzed performed in 65 pediatric patients (mean age 8.

Cachexia, the loss of skeletal muscle mass and function with cancer, contributes to reduced life quality and worsened survival. Skeletal muscle fibrosis leads to disproportionate muscle weakness; however, the role of infiltrating immune cells and fibro-adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) in cancer-induced muscle fibrosis is not well understood. Using the C26 model of cancer cachexia, we sought to examine the changes to skeletal muscle immune cells and FAPs which contribute to excessive extracellular matrix (ECM) collagen deposition.
