Diverse marine species convert methylphosphonate to methane.

Mar Life Sci Technol

August 2025

Frontiers Science Center for Deep Ocean Multispheres and Earth System, and College of Marine Life Sciences, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, 266003 China.

Unlabelled: Microbial degradation of methylphosphonate (MPn) is an important pathway contributing to the 'methane paradox' in the oxic ocean. spp. are suggested to participate in this process.

Background: Rhinosinusitis (RS) is a leading reason for antibiotic prescriptions but treatment satisfaction is low. Misdiagnosis may contribute to poor outcomes, as migraine-often underrecognized-can mimic RS symptoms, with studies showing overlap between RS and migraine diagnoses. Our aims were to explore the demographics and clinical features of facial pain or pressure (FPP), its relationship with migraine and RS, and distinguish symptoms between these overlapping conditions.

The coexistence of pharmaceuticals and microorganisms in source separated urine poses a risk for the development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), especially when urine-based fertilizers are applied to soils. While prior studies have investigated pathogen inactivation in source-separated wastewater matrices, few have evaluated the simultaneous fate of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARBs) and their corresponding resistance genes (ARGs) in real urine matrices, particularly under alkaline conditions. Here, we studied the inactivation of β-lactamase-producing and vancomycin-resistant and the degradation of their respective ARGs ( and A) in alkalized, unhydrolyzed urine (pH 10.

Unraveling boron-organic template interactions in [B, Al]-ZSM-5 zeolite using solid-state NMR spectroscopy.

Magn Reson Lett

May 2025

National Center for Magnetic Resonance in Wuhan, State Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance and Atomic and Molecular Physics, Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan, 430071, China.

Organic structure directing agents (OSDAs), such as tetrapropylammonium (TPA) cations, serve as crucial templates for the formation of zeolite frameworks. These organic molecules interact with inorganic species, guiding the assembly of the zeolite structure. In this study, we investigate the complex interplay between boron species and TPA cations during the crystallization of [B, Al]-ZSM-5 zeolites.
