Article Abstract

We reported the first lysosome targeted two-photon fluorescent probe (Lyso-NP) as a viscosity probe for monitoring autophagy. The fluorescence lifetime of Lyso-NP exhibited an excellent linear relationship with viscosity value ( R = 0.99, x = 0.39). Lyso-NP also showed the specific capability for imaging lysosomal viscosity under two-photon excitation at 860 nm along with good biocompatibility. More importantly, Lyso-NP could be used to monitor the autophagy process in living cells by quantitatively detecting lysosomal viscosity changes during the membrane fusion process via two-photon fluorescence lifetime imaging.

Reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) process is critical for thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials to realize spin-flip of triplet excitons in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), but the RISC processes of most TADF materials are not fast enough, undermining electroluminescence (EL) efficiency stability and operational lifetime. Herein, a symmetry breaking strategy to accelerate RISC processes is proposed. By designing asymmetric electron-withdrawing backbone consisting of benzonitrile and xanthone/thioxanthone groups, two new asymmetric TADF molecules, 4tCzCN-pXT and 4tCzCN-pTXT, with multiple 3,6-di-tert-butylcarbazole donors are successfully developed.

Aims: Cardiac tumors are aggressive and asymptomatic in early stages, causing late diagnosis and locoregional metastasis. Currently, the standard of care uses gadolinium-based contrast agents for MRI, and the associated hypersensitivity reactions are a significant concern, such as gadolinium deposition disease.
