The pace of discovery in eScience is increasingly dependent on a scientist's ability to acquire, curate, integrate, analyze, and share large and diverse collections of data. It is all too common for investigators to spend inordinate amounts of time developing ad hoc procedures to manage their data. In previous work, we presented Deriva, a Scientific Asset Management System, designed to accelerate data driven discovery. In this paper, we report on the use of Deriva in a number of substantial and diverse eScience applications. We describe the lessons we have learned, both from the perspective of the Deriva technology, as well as the ability and willingness of scientists to incorporate Scientific Asset Management into their daily workflows.

This study investigates the impact of data assets on enterprise persistent innovation using panel data from Chinese A-share listed firms from 2011 to 2022. The results indicate that data assets significantly enhance both the inputs and outputs of enterprise persistent innovation, with the findings remaining robust under endogeneity tests. Mediation analysis reveals that data assets influence enterprise persistent innovation through three key channels: process innovation, business innovation, and technological innovation.

Background: Conventional top-down health interventions often exclude adolescents and community stakeholders from service design and implementation, resulting in low uptake and a mismatch with young people's needs. The CAFFP-PAC initiative in Northern Uganda sought to explore how a community-led, adolescent-centered inception process could support integration of adolescent-friendly family planning and post-abortion care into primary healthcare services.
Methods: A participatory qualitative design was employed during an inception meeting in Lira City on April 1, 2025, guided by principles of community-based participatory research and citizen science.

One mechanism for improving the resilience of freshwater systems affected by climate change is to use environmental water to support refugial habitats which allow species, ecosystems and functions to persist and recover after severe droughts. We applied systematic conservation planning (SCP) to prioritise wetlands and lakes with the aim of informing the delivery of environmental water for the creation and protection of refugia habitat in the Murray-Darling Basin, Australia. SCP uses a complimentary algorithm to generate planning solutions that protect all target ecological assets for the lowest "cost" of the management constraints considered.
