Background: Basic Life Support (BLS) is critical for timely recognition and response to cardiac and respiratory arrest. However, BLS knowledge and practice remain low among healthcare workers in Uganda, especially in rural areas. Limited research has evaluated the effectiveness of structured BLS training intervention in such a setting.

Background: The Register for Healthcare Technology Involvement and Evaluation is a database which was established to collect names and contact details of people interested in joining patient public involvement (PPI) activity connected to brain injury research. With the establishment of the new HealthTech Research Centre in Brain and Spinal Injury (Brain Injury HRC), the database was refreshed and enhanced to collect demographic data. As well as directing people to appropriate research projects, the database acts as a resource to explore attitudes and opinions on PPI.

Traditional classification problems assume that features and labels are fixed. However, this assumption is easily violated in open environments. For example, the exponential growth of web pages leads to an expanding feature space with the accumulation of keywords.

Zigzag and other piecewise deterministic Markov process samplers have attracted significant interest for their non-reversibility and other appealing properties for Bayesian posterior computation. Hamiltonian Monte Carlo is another state-of-the-art sampler, exploiting fictitious momentum to guide Markov chains through complex target distributions. We establish an important connection between the zigzag sampler and a variant of Hamiltonian Monte Carlo based on Laplace-distributed momentum.

Te Ara Hāro-Centre for Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Department of Psychological Medicine, University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.

Background: This study explored the feasibility, acceptability, and Māori cultural responsivity of study methods and components of an intervention to support clinicians to resume implementation of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based treatment for disruptive behavior in young children.

Method: This pragmatic, parallel-arm, randomized, controlled pilot trial ran for a 6-month period and included PCIT-trained clinicians who were not delivering, or only rarely using PCIT in their work. Re-implementation strategies were systematically developed and theory-driven and included a mobile co-worker, a portable time-out space, audio-visual equipment, weekly consultation groups, and 2-day targeted PCIT refresher training.
