Introduction: Cognitive frailty (CF), which typically precedes dementia and functional decline, serves as a more robust predictor of adverse health outcomes compared to physical frailty alone, representing a critical challenge in promoting healthy aging among older people living with HIV (PLWH) aged ≥ 50 years. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of cognitive frailty and identify its associated factors among PLWH aged ≥ 50 years.

Methods: A convenience sample of 344 PLWH ≥ 50 years was recruited from a tertiary Grade A hospital in Zunyi, China.

Purpose: The study aimed to compare the impact of combination and monotherapy on mortality, antibiotic consumption using 'Days of Therapy (DOT)', and antibiotic-related adverse events in patients with methicillin-susceptible (MSSA) bacteraemia.

Methods: This retrospective study included all adult patients (>18 years) with MSSA bacteraemia who received either monotherapy (beta-lactam alone) or combination therapy (beta-lactam plus teicoplanin or daptomycin or linezolid) between 2018 and 2023. Mortality, antibiotic consumption, and factors predicting mortality were analysed.

The COVID-19 pandemic had significant widespread financial impacts, resulting in decreased household income, increased unemployment, and disrupted health services. Despite the higher prevalence of infections of tuberculosis (TB) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in poorer populations, research on the financial challenges faced by these populations during the pandemic is still limited. Indonesia recorded the highest COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia (6,815,156) while contending with the dual burden of HIV and TB.
