The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the quality of the coronal restoration and the root filling on the success of endodontic treatment. Patients treated at Kuwait University Dental Clinics (KUDC) from 2003 to 2014 were contacted by telephone calls. Demographic data and clinical records of patients, including age, gender, the tooth number, and medical history were recorded. Each patient received clinical examination for all teeth, including assessment of the coronal filling (type, quality), root- and/or coronal fracture, and the periodontal condition around the tooth (e.g., probing depth, gingival recession); percussion and mobility tests. A periapical radiograph of the endodontic treated tooth was taken to determine the health of the periapical tissues using the periapical index. The quality of the root filling was assessed by length and density of the root filling. The mean follow-up period was 4.8 years. The overall success rate of endodontic treatment was 86%; teeth without any initial periapical lesion had a success of 93%, whereas those with such lesion had a success rate of 80%. Periapical healing was not significantly associated with either the length of root filling ( = 0.40) or the density of root filling ( = 0.099), but was statistically significantly associated with the presence of coronal filling defects ( = 0.001). This study demonstrated that inadequate coronal filling but not the quality of root filling was associated with a higher prevalence of periapical lesions.

Biomass containing inorganic ingredients can be converted into highly porous biochar via in-situ activation and templating process. Here, N-doped biochar is obtained by pyrolysis of spinach organs for efficient dye removal, using methylene blue (MB) as a model dye, and pyrolysis temperature plays a critical role in determining both porosity and N-species within biochar. Significantly, leaf biochar (LC-900) as pyrolyzed at 900 °C shows surface areas of 1263 m/g larger than that of biochar from stem and root, indicating a dependence on the biomass organ source.

Objectives: This study evaluated the marginal adaptation of ProRoot MTA (Dentsply Tulsa Dental), Biodentine (Septodont), and TotalFill BC RRM (FKG) placed in root-end cavities prepared with ultrasonic or Er,Cr:YSGG laser tips, using scanning electron microscopy.
Methods: The canals of 90 extracted maxillary central incisors were prepared and obturated and their roots resected. Six groups of 15 specimens were allocated as follows: ultrasonic + ProRoot MTA, ultrasonic + Biodentine, ultrasonic + TotalFill, laser + ProRoot MTA, laser + Biodentine, and laser + TotalFill.

While plants adapt to fluctuating phosphorus (P) availability in soils by enhancing phosphate acquisition or optimizing internal P-utilization, the spatiotemporal dynamics of these responses, particularly in crops, remain poorly understood. This study systematically investigated how and when potato organs respond to fluctuating P availability across different developmental stages using transcriptomic, metabolomic, and physiological analyses of leaves, roots, and tubers. Transcriptomic data revealed dynamic, organ- and stage-specific responses to P-deficiency, with the highest number of differentially expressed genes in leaves before tuberization and in roots during tuberization.

Thus, this study investigated the impact of sex and age differences on the severity of apical periodontitis (AP) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and a volumetric periapical index (CBCT-PAI).

To investigate the dislodgement resistance of AH Plus and CeraSeal sealers to root dentin conditioned with Dual Rinse 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP) (DR HEDP) or Triton and to correlate their effects on the organic and inorganic content of the root dentin treated with test irrigants.Sixty single-rooted extracted human teeth were divided into two groups and irrigated with DR HEDP or Triton. These samples were further divided into two subgroups to study the dislodgement resistance of AH Plus and CeraSeal sealers.
