Purpose: To investigate the images and treatment differences for Type IIIa atlantoaxial rotary dislocation (AARD) by comparing the imaging characteristics of patients with Type III and Type IIIa AARD.
Methods: The present study retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 35 patients who underwent posterior C1-C2 intra-articular fusion due to AARD from our hospital database. Among them, 23 patients were diagnosed with Type III AARD, while the remaining 12 patients were diagnosed with Type IIIa AARD.

Introduction: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), caused by pathogenic variants in the survival motor neuron (SMN) gene, is the most common genetic cause of mortality in children under the age of two. Prior reports of obstetric sonograms performed in pregnancies with severe forms of fetal SMA have discrepant findings that may stem from a failure to account for the SMN2 copy number.
Methods: We present a neonate diagnosed with SMA type 0 postnatally (0SMN1/1SMN2 genotype).

Introduction: Fistula-in-ano is a relatively common benign disease of the anorectal region, which may pose considerable complications in terms of surgery, as this disease has the propensity to recur and may be accompanied by postoperative wound healing. Surgical therapy can be considered the key in the management, and surgery involves fistulectomy or fistulotomy as a part of surgical treatment. Nevertheless, due to the fear of slow healing of the wound and acquiring infection because of common methods, some other methods have been explored, and some have been suggested to be defined as the process of marsupialization, which could allow decreasing the size of the open wound and stimulate its recovery quicker.

Myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) is an inherited neuromuscular disorder characterized by muscle weakness, atrophy and myotonia, with multi-system involvement. Recent studies have highlighted the pathological heterogeneity within the CNS of DM1 patients, particularly significant changes in spinal transcriptome expression and alternative splicing. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive transcriptome analysis of the spinal cord in the muscle-specific DM1 mouse model and their wild-type controls across different life stages: young, adult and old age.
