Tebbitt was rediscovered in 2014 from Myanmar after 67 years based on its last collection in 1937. Its previously unknown female flower and inaccurate morphology of leaf and ovary have been additionally described. This species belongs to Begonia sect. Sphenanthera (Hassk.) Warb. due to its dioecious habit, 3-locular ovary, berry fruits and thick placenta segments. Morphologically, it is similar to S. H. Huang & Y. M. Shui in the leaf shape, placentation and fruit shape, but different in its dioecious plants, pliciform leaves, two-petalled female flowers and berry fruits. The rediscovery of this amazing living species will attract significant interest for scientific research and horticultural application.

Plasmodesmata are specialized structures in plant cell walls that mediate intercellular communication by regulating the trafficking of molecules between adjacent cells. The actin cytoskeleton plays a pivotal role in controlling plasmodesmatal permeability, but the molecular mechanisms underlying this regulation remain unclear. Here, we report that BRK1, a component of the WAVE/SCAR complex involved in Arp2/3-mediated actin nucleation, localizes to PD and primary pit fields in A.

Dyslipidemia is considered a crucial risk factor for high risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. Cumin and coriander seeds are well-known flavoring agents that contain nutraceutical properties and appear to have beneficial health effects. A study was therefore conducted to investigate the effects of cumin and coriander seeds on body weight, abdominal fat and lipid profile in rats.

Terminalia arjuna, an important medicinal plant in traditional Indian systems, has been extensively studied for its cardioprotective bark. However, limited attention has been given to its fruit, which contains several biologically active phytochemicals with potential antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties. This study aimed to isolate and partially purify phytoactive compounds from the fruit of T.
