Background: Clinical guidelines recommend cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for people with psychosis, however, implementation is poor and not everyone wishes to engage with therapy. Understanding service user (SU) preferences for receiving such treatments is a priority for services.
Aims: To explore SU preferences and outcomes of different methods of delivering CBT for psychosis.
Method: SUs experiencing psychosis could choose between treatment as usual (TAU); TAU plus telephone-delivered CBT with self-help, CBT recovery manual (TS); high support CBT (HS - TAU plus TS plus group sessions) or randomisation. Participants received their option of choice and were followed-up on several outcomes over 9 and 15 months.
Results: Of 89 people recruited, three chose to be randomised and 86 expressed a treatment preference (32 chose TAU, 34 chose TS, 23 chose HS). There were few differences between those who chose therapy compared to those who chose TAU. Those who had more positive impacts from their symptoms were significantly more likely to choose TAU.
Conclusions: Most people had strong preferences about treatment delivery and a substantial number did not wish to receive additional therapy. These findings have to be considered when planning and allocating resources for people with psychosis.

DNAzymes possessing kinase-like activities have long held theoretical promise, yet their practical implementation has remained significantly limited. Notably, DNAzyme kinase 1 (DK1), discovered over two decades ago, exhibits a unique self-phosphorylation capability upon encountering specific substrates like ATP, but its broad-based and programmable applications have not yet been fully realized. In this study, we innovatively couple DK1's autophosphorylation mechanism with the PfAgo to establish a novel programmable cascade sensing platform named RASTEN (Robust pfAgo-based Strategy for POC Testing Non-nucleic Acid and Nucleic Acid).

Background: Evidence from multiple pilots and post-introduction scale-up initiatives have demonstrated that self-administered subcutaneous depot-medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA-SC) has potential to improve contraceptive continuation rates and expand contraceptive access to populations with limited utilization of facility-based health services. Only a few of these studies have been conducted in South Asian countries, and none where most contraceptive use is of non-hormonal methods that require limited to no contact with the health system, leaving policymakers in countries like Pakistan with limited context-specific evidence to guide decisions on whether, how, and for whom to introduce DMPA-SC.
Methods: A prospective cohort study will be conducted in 41 health facilities and surrounding communities in Punjab, Pakistan.

Purpose: This study explored the experiences of long-term care workers in using assistive technologies in dementia-specific care facilities in Taiwan, with a focus on perceived benefits, challenges encountered, and required support strategies.
Methods: A qualitative research design was employed. Ten female care workers from five dementia-specific long-term care institutions, each with at least 1 year of experience using assistive technologies, participated in semi-structured in-depth interviews.

Clinical decision support (CDS) tools in electronic health records (EHRs) often face low uptake due to limited usability, workflow integration, and other implementation issues. We recently designed and implemented the STRATIFY-CDS tool, which calculates a validated risk-prediction model and recommends disposition for emergency department (ED) patients with acute heart failure. Despite applying human-centered design and implementation science strategies, initial utilization in the first 3 months of the STRATIFY-CDS tool was just 3%.
