Landscape genomics analysis reveals the genetic basis underlying cashmere goats and dairy goats adaptation to frigid environments.

Stress Biol

September 2025

Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology for Agriculture, College of Animal Science and Technology, Northwest A&F University, Yangling, Shaanxi, China.

Understanding the genetic mechanism of cold adaptation in cashmere goats and dairy goats is very important to improve their production performance. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the genetic basis of goat adaptation to cold environments, clarify the impact of environmental factors on genome diversity, and lay the foundation for breeding goat breeds to adapt to climate change. A total of 240 dairy goats were subjected to genome resequencing, and the whole genome sequencing data of 57 individuals from 6 published breeds were incorporated.

Background: Low cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) has previously been identified as a key prognostic marker after pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI). Cerebrovascular autoregulation supports stabilization of cerebral blood flow within the autoregulation range. Beyond the upper limit of this range, cerebral blood flow increases with increasing CPP, leading to increased risk of intracranial hypertension and blood-brain barrier disruptions.

Cardioplegic Machine Perfusion of Hearts Donated after Circulatory Death.

J Cardiovasc Transl Res

September 2025

Department of Cardiac Surgery, University Hospital Halle (Saale), University of Halle, Ernst-Grube-Straße 40, 06120, Halle (Saale), Germany.

We compared the effects of ex-vivo machine perfusion (EVMP) of hearts donated after circulatory death (DCD) with the single-shot solutions HTK-N and Del Nido cardioplegia (DNC) on left-ventricular (LV) contractility and myocardial microcirculation. In a DCD pig model, hearts were maintained by EVMP with hypothermic, oxygenated HTK-N (DCD-HTK-N; N = 8) or DNC (DCD-DNC; N = 8) followed by reperfusion with blood, including assessment of contractility and microcirculation with Laser-Doppler-Flow (LDF). We performed transcriptomics using microarrays.

Autologous vein grafting is a common method for revascularization in cases of traumatic limb arterial injuries. However, no clear guidelines have been established regarding the use of tourniquets following vascular reconstruction. We report a case of graft thrombosis that occurred during a planned orthopedic surgery one week after the initial revascularization.

Thorough Physiological Assessment in Non-Culprit Vessels of Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction: Is It a Required Action?

Cardiovasc Drugs Ther

September 2025

Department of Cardiology of The Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, 88 Jiefang Road, Hangzhou, 310009, China.

Backgrounds: The management of non-culprit vessels (NCV) among individuals with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remains an unsolved problem. Angiography-derived physiological assessments developed recently may help address this issue. Our study aims to measure angiography-derived fractional flow reserve (Angio-FFR) and angiography-derived index of microcirculatory resistance (Angio-IMR) in NCVs of AMI patients and explore their prognostic values and necessity.
