A novel spiro-indolofuranone fused to a thiazine skeleton, orbicularisine (1), was isolated from gills of the mollusk Codakia orbicularis. The isolation and structure elucidation using spectroscopic evidence including mass and NMR spectroscopy are described. The final structure of 1 was supported by key HMBC correlation.

Historical reconstruction studies are important for understanding the evolutionary mechanisms associated with different parasite-host systems. Platyhelminths of the classes Monopisthocotyla and Polyopisthocotyla (formerly Monogenoidea or Monogenea) have proven to be excellent models for historical reconstruction studies due to their exceptional parasite specificity, suggesting that cospeciation events are the main pattern observed in these parasite-host systems (i.e.

Chlamys farreri, commonly known as the Zhikong scallop, holds considerable value in global mariculture due to its economic importance. However, diseases pose a major threat to the scallop aquaculture industry. Thus, investigating the innate immune mechanisms of scallops, including the apoptosis mechanism, holds significant importance for the prevention and control of diseases.

This study reports the first confirmed case of Myxobolus koi parasitic infection in koi (Cyprinus carpio koi) imported into Thailand. Infected fish exhibit clinical signs during the quarantine process, including lethargy, tachypnea, flared gill opercula and excessive mucus production in the gills. The gross pathological findings included swollen and pale gills interspersed with white nodules.

This research has identified Streptomyces zaomyceticus S1-6 as a promising probiotic candidate exhibiting broad-spectrum antibacterial properties against nine prevalent fish pathogens. Toxicity assessments conducted using liver cells from grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) and subsequent feeding trials demonstrated that S1-6 is both safe and non-cytotoxic. After a 30-day feeding period, S1-6 significantly enhanced growth performance relative to the control group (P < 0.
