We would like to retract the article entitled "Nuclear import of prototype foamy virus transactivator Bel1 is mediated by KPNA1, KPNA6 and KPNA7" published in International Journal of Molecular Medicine 38: 339-406, 2016. The results presented in Fig. 6 have been demonstrated to be unreproducible, and we cannot provide an explanation for this. Furthermore, we have recently identified that the cell cultures used in our experiments were partly contaminated with Mycoplasma, which could have contributed to the irreproducibility of the results. In addition, we are currently in dispute with a colleague who has contributed towards this study, but does not wish to be included as a named author on the paper. We are therefore going to retract this article. All the authors unanimously agree to the retraction of this paper, and we deeply apologize to readers and editors for any inconvenience caused by this retraction. [the original article was published in the International Journal of Molecular Medicine 38: 399-406, 2016; DOI: 10.3892/ijmm.2016.2635].

Introduction: Preanalytical factors significantly impact the stability of biomolecules in biospecimens, affecting the reliability of biomedical research and diagnostics. This paper presents the development of ProvideQ (Database for pre-analytical variability and biospecimen quality), a web-based platform designed to centralize access to research findings on these influences.
Methods: Building on an initial prototype, we implemented a validated criteria catalog for data quality, an efficient search system handling incomplete inputs, and SPREC 4.

Background: General practitioners are confronted with a wide variety of diseases and sometimes diagnostic uncertainty. Clinical decision support systems could be valuable to improve diagnosis, but existing tools are not adapted to the requirements and workflow in the primary setting. In project SATURN (Smart physician portal for patients with unclear disease), the prototype of a clinical decision support system based on artificial intelligence is being developed together with users specifically for primary care in Germany.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common condition linked to increased cardiovascular risk. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is the standard treatment; however, poor mask fit-due to limited size options-often reduces patient adherence. This study explores the feasibility of developing a fully customised CPAP mask prototype using accessible 3D scanning, computer-aided design, and 3D printing technologies.

Background: A unique feature of inline MRI-linac prototype systems is the changes to entry surface or skin doses. For the high field (1 T) Australian MRI-linac prototype, a strong surface dose increase is observed. This is a by-product of secondary electron contamination being focused down the MRI bore due to the magnetic field being parallel with the x-ray beam direction.

The human CHCHD4 protein, which is a prototypical family member, carries a coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix motif that is stabilized by two disulfide bonds. Using its CPC sequence motif, CHCHD4 plays a key role in mitochondrial metabolism, cell survival, and response to stress conditions, controlling the mitochondrial import of diversified protein substrates that are specifically recognized through an interplay between covalent and non-covalent interactions. In the present review, we provide an updated and comprehensive analysis of CHCHD4 substrates controlled by its redox activities.
