The genus is a predominant member of host-associated microbiome. We here report on the genomic analysis of strain Russ that was isolated from a trashcan at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK. The draft genome of strain Russ consists of 3,939,877 bp of DNA with 3704 protein-coding genes and 134 RNA genes. This is the first report of a genome sequence of a member of . Genomic analysis revealed metabolic versatility with genes involved in the metabolism and transport of all amino acids as well as glucose, fructose, mannose, xylose, arabinose and galactose, suggesting the organism is a versatile heterotroph. The genome also encodes an extensive secretory machinery including types I, II, III, IV, and Vb secretion systems, and several genes for pili production including the new usher/chaperone system (pfam 05,229). The implications of these systems for opportunistic pathogenesis are discussed.

Precision microbiome programming for therapeutic applications is limited by challenges in achieving reproducible colonic colonization. Previously, we created an exclusive niche that we used to engraft engineered bacteria into diverse microbiota in mice by using a porphyran prebiotic. Building on this approach, we have now engineered conditional attenuation into a porphyran-utilizing strain of by replacing native essential gene regulation with a porphyran-inducible promoter to allow reversible engraftment.

Beginning in early 2021, unique and highly divergent lineages of SARS-CoV-2 were sporadically found in wastewater sewersheds using a sequencing strategy focused on amplifying the most rapidly evolving region of SARS-CoV-2, the receptor binding domain (RBD). Because these RBD sequences did not match known circulating strains and their source was not known, we termed them "cryptic lineages". To date, more than 20 cryptic lineages have been identified using the RBD-focused sequencing strategy.

We investigated two elements of the care partner experience, namely time and strain incurred by care partners providing care to PLWAD across the severity spectrum.
Methods: Data gathered from the Alzheimer's Disease Patient and Caregiver Engagement (AD PACE) What Matters Most (WMM) study series were analyzed to determine how much time care partners spent providing care to PLWAD based on where the care recipients lived.

Palmrosa essential oil (PEO) from , is used as complementary and traditional medicine worldwide. The present study aimed at compositional profiling of PEO and molecular docking of PEO bioactive compound geraniol against fungal enzymes chitin synthase (CS), UDP-glycosyltransferase (UDPG) and glucosamine-6-phosphate synthase (GPS), as apposite sites for drug designing against "Aspergillosis" and "Mucormycosis" and in vitro confirmation. Compositional profile of PEO was completed by GC-FID analysis.
