The present review is aimed at reporting on the most advanced and recent applications of immunochemical imaging techniques for the localization of proteins within complex and multilayered paint stratigraphies. Indeed, a paint sample is usually constituted by the superimposition of different layers whose characterization is fundamental in the evaluation of the state of conservation and for addressing proper restoration interventions. Immunochemical methods, which are based on the high selectivity of antigen-antibody reactions, were proposed some years ago in the field of cultural heritage. In addition to enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for protein identification, immunochemical imaging methods have also been explored in the last decades, thanks to the possibility to localize the target analytes, thus increasing the amount of information obtained and thereby reducing the number of samples and/or analyses needed for a comprehensive characterization of the sample. In this review, chemiluminescent, spectroscopic and electrochemical imaging detection methods are discussed to illustrate potentialities and limits of advanced immunochemical imaging systems for the analysis of paint cross-sections.

Objective: Gallium-68 (Ga)-pentixafor, a novel positron emission tomography (PET) tracer with high affinity for C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4), has recently been introduced in order to assess the CXCR4 expression status in vivo. This study is to investigate the role of Ga-pentixafor in detecting various tumors with mice models and to provide references to clinical studies.
Materials And Methods: Gallium-68-pentixafor and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) PET was performed in opm-2 (lymphoma), daudi (myeloma) and panc1 (pancreatic cancer)-bearing mice.

Focused ultrasound (FUS)-mediated blood-brain barrier (BBB) opening is an innovative approach for enhancing the delivery of central nervous system drugs. Ga radiotracers are advantageous for imaging due to their ideal half-life and imaging properties; however, their limited ability to traverse the BBB constrains their application in brain imaging. This study investigates the application of FUS to selectively deliver the Ga radiotracer, [Ga]STZL4110, into the hippocampus for β-amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in an Alzheimer's disease (AD) mouse model.

The efficacy of nucleic acid therapeutics (NATs) such as antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) and small interfering RNAs relies on multiple stages of extra- and intracellular trafficking. Assessing uptake and efficacy often relies on fluorescent tagging of the NAT for imaging, although the exogenous tag undoubtedly influences the kinetics of intracellular transport and does not represent the compound used clinically. Therefore, better methods to assess the cellular and tissue distribution of NATs are needed.

Context: Fibrothecomas are a rare group of tumors of stromal cell origin, accounting for approximately 5%-8% of all ovarian tumors. These tumors are frequently mistaken as malignant due to solid consistency, association with ascites, and pleural effusion leading to unnecessary radical surgery. Due to the relative rarity of these tumors, we want to highlight eleven cases of fibrothecoma/fibromas encountered in our experience with different clinical presentations in various age groups requiring different treatment strategies based on the clinical, radiological, cytological, histopathological, and immunochemical characteristics.

Amoebic colitis is a common mimic of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), primarily encountered in developing countries. We present a case of a 73-year-old British male with no travel history to any amoebic endemic regions, who presented with a three-month history of per rectal (PR) bleeding, diarrhoea, and a positive faecal immunochemical test (FIT). Prior to this, he reported no history of experiencing any gastrointestinal symptoms.
