Article Abstract
The authors examined the prevalence of self-reported ageist behaviors in a lifespan sample ranging in age from 13 to 91 years. Participants completed the Relating to Older People Evaluation (Cherry & Palmore). Results indicated that adolescents and young adults reported fewer ageist behaviors overall than did middle-aged and older adults. Positive ageist behaviors were more frequent than negative ageist behaviors for people of all ages. Women endorsed positive ageism items more often than men, although men and women did not differ in frequency of negative ageist behaviors. Follow-up analyses on participants' responses to two knowledge of aging measures, the Facts on Aging Quiz and the Knowledge of Memory Aging Questionnaire, showed that knowledge of aging was significantly correlated with negative ageist behaviors, after controlling for age and gender. Implications of these findings for current views of ageism (positive and negative) are discussed.

This article explores the representation of female sexuality in later life through the lens of three contemporary Spanish films: La vida era eso (2020), Destello bravío (2021), and Mamacruz (2023). Drawing from feminist aging studies, film theory, and concepts such as haptic visuality and clitoral sexuality, the study challenges the patriarchal, ageist, and phallocentric narratives that have long shaped cultural understandings of older women's erotic lives. Through close readings of these films, the article demonstrates how they subvert the dominant heteronormative gaze by foregrounding sensory pleasure, autoeroticism, and the reawakening of desire in older women.

This article offers an anocritical reading of Girls5eva, a sitcom about a 1990s one-hit girl group trying to make a comeback. Building on scholarship into the representation of aging women in popular media and the music industry, our reading first addresses fuzzy boundaries between life stages and transgressions of the normalized life course. Second, we examine the discourse of girl power and its relationship to midlife transformation.

Objective: Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the Western world and frequently requires treatment with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), which carries significant side effects, including loss of sexual function. This study explores how older men with prostate cancer perceive physician communication about the sexual and emotional impact of ADT, and whether they feel their values, masculinity, and quality-of-life concerns are considered in treatment decisions.
Methods: This qualitative study employed an interpretative phenomenological approach based on in-depth interviews with 25 men aged 60-80 undergoing or having completed ADT.

Background: Positive images of aging in traditional media promote better health outcomes in older adults, including increased life expectancy. Images produced by generative artifical intelligence (AI) technologies may reflect and amplify societal age-related biases, a phenomenon known as digital ageism. Introduction: Negative stereotypes among healthcare professionals can lead to discrimination and lower quality care for older adults.
Objectives: This study describes a specific knowledge- and empathy-based educational intervention aimed at reducing negative stereotypes about aging among nursing students.
Methods: A longitudinal study with 159 s-year nursing students included theoretical instruction, video viewing, role-playing with an aged simulation suit, and debriefing.
