This study aims to evaluate the effect of anti-Streptococcus mutans IgY gel on quantity of S. mutans on rats' tooth surface. Sprague Dawley rats were exposed intra-orally with S. mutans Xc and were fed a caries-inducing diet 2000. The 24 rats were divided into four groups: group A had their teeth coated with IgY gel; group B received sterilized water as a control; group C had their teeth coated with IgY gel starting on the 29(th) day; and group D had their teeth coated with a gel without IgY. Plaque samples were swabbed from the anterior teeth for S. mutans colony quantification, and saliva was collected to measure immunoreactivity by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The results indicated that the quantity of S. mutans in rats treated with IgY gel showed significant difference compared with the controls. After coating with IgY anti-S. mutans gel, the mean immunoreactivity in rat saliva was higher than that of the no treatment group. In conclusion, topical application with anti-S. mutans IgY gel reduced the quantity of S. mutans on the tooth surface.

Aim: This study aimed to formulate a protocol to isolate and characterize immunoglobulin Y (IgY) antibodies from chicken egg yolk and evaluate its potential in inhibiting .
Materials And Methods: Part A: IgY was extracted from fresh chicken egg yolk using a polyethylene glycol precipitation method. The isolated IgY was characterized using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy to assess protein concentration and purity, sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) for molecular weight confirmation, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for purity, and mass spectrometry for further protein analysis.

With the progression of biomedical therapies, antibodies have emerged as promising agents for treating inflammatory skin disorders due to their specificity and antigen-targeting capabilities. Antibodies play a crucial role in epidermal injury repair by precisely regulating inflammatory pathways and neutralizing key inflammatory factors. Notably, conventional IgG antibodies face limitations including poor stability, immunogenicity, and reduced efficacy in epidermal environments.

IgY technology refers to the process of producing, extracting, and utilizing IgY antibodies from the egg yolk. The extraction of IgY from the avian egg yolk is particularly interesting due to its potential as a reservoir of targeted antibodies for infection prevention. The objective of our study was to evaluate and compare the efficiency and purity of antibodies obtained through four different IgY extraction procedures: water dilution (WD), polyethylene glycol (PEG) precipitation, chloroform (CF) extraction combined with PEG extraction, and phenol (PHE) extraction.

Background: Highly pathogenic H5Nx avian influenza (HPAI) poses a significant threat to poultry health globally, necessitating the development of effective vaccination strategies.
Methods: This study assessed the immunogenicity and efficacy of a reverse-genetics-derived, Differentiating Infected from Vaccinated Animals (DIVA)-compatible inactivated H5N8 vaccine based on the IDCDC-RG71A strain. The vaccine was formulated with different adjuvants, including Montanide ISA 78 VG, ISA 71 R VG, GEL P PR, and mannose-conjugated chitosan nanoparticles, and administered via either the subcutaneous (SC) or intranasal (IN) route.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a major global health challenge and is closely related to the occurrence of diseases such as cervical cancer. Unfortunately, effective treatments are still lacking. In view of the advantages of antibody drugs, antibody-targeted therapy may become one of the means of treatment and prevention of HPV infection.
