Several institutions have incorporated participatory genomic testing into their curricula to engage students in experiential learning, and this has raised ethical concerns. We summarize strategies for managing these concerns and review evidence of the influence of this experiential approach on student knowledge and attitudes towards genomics.

Introduction: This study explores the collaborative co-design process for developing a weekly meal box tailored for individuals with neurological conditions. Recognising the critical role of nutrition for this community, the research addresses the challenges posed by cognitive and physical impairments in meal preparation.
Methods: Through two co-design workshops involving consumers, healthcare providers and industry experts, insights were gathered on dietary preferences, nutritional needs and practical challenges.

Scholars have increasingly turned to empathy to increase the effectiveness of participatory deliberations among individuals with diverse interests and values. However, because empathy is traditionally focused on in-group relations, deliberations in increasingly polarized contexts would benefit from ways to bridge across social groups. To address this, we apply the construct of empathy.

Traditional agricultural landscapes are vital reservoirs of biocultural heritage and agrobiodiversity, yet traditional farming systems and their unique crop landraces face increasing marginalization and genetic erosion. Using northwest Himalaya as a case study, we examine the ecological resilience and genetic diversity of an understudied traditional crop, black pea (scientific name unclear), alongside barley (), and compare them to the introduced cash crop, green pea (). Participatory field experiments with local farmers revealed that traditional crops outperform introduced varieties in survival and reproduction traits across sites.

Humanity stands at the threshold of a new era in biological understanding, disease treatment, and overall wellness. The convergence of evolving patient and caregiver (consumer) behaviors, increased data collection, advancements in health technology and standards, federal policies, and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is driving one of the most significant transformations in human history. To achieve transformative health care insights, AI must have access to comprehensive longitudinal health records (LHRs) that span clinical, genomic, nonclinical, wearable, and patient-generated data.

The systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) data are imperative to quantify the AMR burden, monitor and identify emerging AMR, and inform global, international, and national health strategies and guidelines. Despite ongoing global efforts to improve surveillance capacities across Nigeria and other African countries, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) that could improve data quality, and completeness remain underutilized. We used a participatory research approach, drawing on the unique experiences of various stakeholders, such as data analysts, laboratory scientists, infection prevention and control specialists, medical doctors, and representatives from the National Coordinating Center in Nigeria.
