Article Abstract

This paper proposes a road network growing model with the consideration of population distribution and central business district (CBD) attraction. In the model, the relative neighborhood graph (RNG) is introduced as the connection mechanism to capture the characteristics of road network topology. The simulation experiment is set up to illustrate the effects of population distribution and CBD attraction on the characteristics of road network. Moreover, several topological attributes of road network is evaluated by using coverage, circuitness, treeness and total length in the experiment. Finally, the suggested model is verified in the simulation of China and Beijing Highway networks.

What are the key targets to improve quality of life among MSM living with HIV on antiretroviral therapy? A network analysis.

Qual Life Res

September 2025

Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, Cheeloo College of Medicine, Shandong University, 44 West Wenhua Road, Jinan, 250012, Shandong, China.

Purpose: The study aimed to assess the interconnection of quality of life (QoL) variables and identify key areas for which interventions could improve QoL among men who have sex with men (MSM) living with HIV on antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Jinan of Shandong Province, between October to December 2020. Undirected network analyses were conducted to examine and visualize the interconnections between QoL variables among MSM living with HIV.

Atherosclerosis remains a leading cause of cardiovascular disease and mortality worldwide, despite advancements in statin therapies. Here, we aimed to identify potential anti-atherosclerosis drugs by an integrated approach combining network medicine-based prediction with empirical validation. Among the top drugs predicted by the preferred algorithm, mesalazine─a drug traditionally used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, was selected for in vivo validation in ApoE mouse model of atherosclerosis.

Effect of Ni-Doped Induced Stacking Faults on the NTC Properties and Aging Stability of LaNdAlNiO Ceramics.

State Key Laboratory of Functional Materials and Devices for Special Environments Conditions, Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Electronic Information Materials and Devices, Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS, Urumqi, 830011, P. R. China.

Owing to its wide bandgap, LaAlO has garnered extensive attention in the field of high-temperature negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors. However, its poor thermal stability and excessively high B value limit the working temperature range. In this work, introducing O 2p and Ni 3d hybrid energy levels into the bandgap is proposed via Ni doping and inducing stacking faults in the crystal structure to narrow the bandgap and enhance aging performance.

Folding and unfolding in molecules as simple as short hydrocarbons and as complicated as large proteins continue to be an active research field. Here, we investigate folding in n-C14H30 using both density functional theory (DFT)/B3LYP calculations of 27 772 local minima and a kinetic transition network calculated for a previously reported potential energy surface (PES) obtained by fitting roughly 250 000 B3LYP energies. In addition to generating a database of minima and the transition states that connect them, these calculations and the PES based on them have been used to develop a simple and accurate model for the energy landscape.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition associated with altered resting-state brain function. An increased excitation-inhibition ratio is discussed as a pathomechanism but in-vivo evidence of disturbed neurotransmission underlying functional alterations remains scarce. We compare local resting-state brain activity and neurotransmitter co-localizations between autism (N = 405, N = 395) and neurotypical controls (N = 473, N = 474) in two independent cohorts and correlate them with excitation-inhibition changes induced by glutamatergic (ketamine) and GABAergic (midazolam) medication.
