Aims: Non-pharmacological therapies for acute decompensated heart failure (HF) and cardiogenic shock have evolved considerably in recent decades. Short-term mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices can be used as circulatory backup. While nearly all available devices use continuous flow, evidence indicates that pulsatile flow can be more effective.

Evaluation of automatic staplers for renal artery division in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy: impact of vessel diameter on hemostatic outcomes.

Department of Surgery and Oncology, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University, 3-1-1 Maidashi, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka, 812-8582, Japan.

Background: Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy requires precise renal artery management for optimal outcomes. This study evaluates the performance and safety of automatic staplers in dividing renal arteries of various diameters.

Methods: Experimental tests were conducted using porcine arteries (3, 5, and 7 mm) to compare double- and triple-row staplers in terms of stapling completeness and pressure resistance.

The current study aimed to determine the impacts of hCG injection on the reproductive performance and hormonal profile of senile camels. Ten adult senile camels were classified into two groups: control males (n = 5) and treated males (n = 5; received hCG) once/week. Testicular morphology and echotexture [testicular volume (TV), testicular echogenicity (TE), and pixel heterogeneity (PH)] were measured.

Background: Angiography-derived radial wall strain (RWS) estimates the radial coronary wall deformation caused by pulsatile blood pressure, whereas superficial wall stress (SWS) summarizes the comprehensive wall deformation caused by both blood pressure and cardiac motion. This study sought to investigate the difference between RWS and SWS for the association with plaque vulnerability and the impact of cardiac motion on RWS.

Methods: Concurrent RWS, cardiac motion-induced bending angle change (ΔCBA), SWS, and optical coherence tomography image analyses were retrospectively performed in 49 eligible intermediate coronary lesions.

Introduction And Objectives: Hepatic, portal, and intrarenal venous flows are impaired in significant tricuspid regurgitation (TR), but the impact of massive and torrential TR remains unclear. This study assessed these venous flow patterns across the 5-grade TR classification and their potential as grading markers.

Methods: Patients with TR were prospectively included from 3 centers.
