In many developed countries, a rapidly aging population has increased healthcare demands and the proportion of older nurses in the workforce. This demographic shift requires nursing managers to have a deeper understanding of the physical demands on staff nurses, particularly older ones. In this paper, we aim to provide valuable insights for developing evidence-based strategies to improve work environments in hospital wards.

Malathion and diazinon are pesticides widely used in agriculture as well as for domestic and veterinary purposes to control pests, such as scale insects, aphids, and fleas. However, these compounds may have harmful effects on the female genital system in humans and animals. This study conducted a systematic review of the scientific literature on the female reproductive effects in humans and rodents exposed to malathion or diazinon.

Ranked as a "top 10 cause of death", chronic liver disease accounts for millions of deaths annually. The prevalence of the most prominent liver disease, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), has doubled over the past 20 years and continues to rise. Growing in parallel are environmental chemical exposures, emergingas key risk factors for liver disease.

We investigate the spatial patterns of major geo-hydrological disasters across Italy (for which national-level emergencies were issued), using an innovative target variable (Months in Emergency State - MES), which captures both the recurrence of disasters and the persistence of their impacts. A total of 62 potential predisposing factors were considered, covering four different fields: environmental, territorial planning, soil sealing, and socio-economic. A three-step feature selection process based on Pearson correlation, multicollinearity analysis, and ReliefF algorithm, was applied to reduce redundancy and identify the most relevant predictors (18), which were used in a CatBoost regression model.

Emissions from ships significantly contribute to global air pollution, especially in coastal regions. Marine engines emit high levels of particulate matter (PM), which may contain toxic heavy metals depending on the fuel used. Current regulations on fuel sulphur content (FSC) permit the use of heavy fuel oils (HFOs) only with wet sulphur scrubbers, but do not regulate the PM and heavy metal content directly.
